The only thing with an UX worse than the average OSX system app is the whole XCode experience. Was hurting developers a specific design goal?

Just connected my headphones to my Linux PC using Bluetooth for like the _fifth_ time in a row. We're definitely in a weird timeline.

FINALLY the tech layoffs get an explanation that makes sense (their synchronicity, their universality...). The US government remains the first investor of the Silicon Valley after all. "Self-made" lol

I really love the Python dataclasses, however it's true that sometimes the `fields` construct becomes a bit heavy. It might be interesting to integrate that into the language syntax?

When I read what I wrote and I see repetitions and bits of sentences mixing up and words straight out of nowhere, I understand that I'm not so different form a LLM

It's really like the vandals marching on Rome, but without the vandals

funniest day online since the billionaire submersible went missing

Google Docs/Sheets/etc always felt more lightweight than their (Libre)Office counterparts. What if it's because data is stored in a database so essentially it's optimized for random read/writes while office documents must fit in RAM and be written all at once? SQLite as the next docx?

That's too true

That's based, too bad I don't write internship reports anymore

In the end, LLM coding agents are pretty much like those RPG genies: they will make your wish come true, but careful what you wish for "Me: I want my unit tests to pass Genie: Great, I've commented out all the failing lines"

Variation on a classic!

If I could get a super-power it would be to never be to never make off-by-one errors 🫠

That's funny because nazis and commies are famous in pop culture for their advanced crazy science

What's for sure is that if AI is credibly going to be able to replace junior web developers at a 5~10 years horizon, niche fields are absolutely safe. LLMs fucking crumble in lots of "offroad" tasks.

Bookmarked for later
