People on social media are focused on criticizing the firms caving to Trump. Which, fair.
But the firms are also market indicators: the ratio of "firms that fight" to "firms that cave" is a good indicator of how the rule of law is faring.

There's always a chance the market is heading in the wrong direction when you retire.
Investing should be a way to get ahead, not survive.

I was so relieved when you mentioned on the pod that you still mask. I'm so sick of people I otherwise respect not giving a single shit about the pandemic anymore, referring to it in the past tense, and taking no real precautions like it's 2019 again.

You can always start wearing a mask again. It’s ok and considering the fascist surveillance state we live in now it also acts as a barrier against are repression and shows solidarity with those who have never stopped wearing one.

The comms workers who were laid off also include the people who did the following, extremely non-exhaustive list of things:
- publicized food and drug recalls
- communicated with hospitals to make sure they knew/were looking out for the symptoms of poisoning from a specific contaminant... 4/x

If someone wants to wear a mask or avoid indoor gatherings, who cares? "Evermaskers" are a small number of people with zero institutional power and aren't causing harm to anyone else. This is an obvious "look at these weirdos" hit piece disguised as an empathic slice-of-life feature.
