Just going through the transcript of my interview with Bill Gates. First question seems pretty to the point I think. (The answer is, yes he could).

An unlikely venue for an international diplomatic dispute, at Poole Magistrates' Court today Livia Tossici-Bolt has been found guilty of breaching an abortion clinic buffer zone - in a case that has attracted the attention of the US State Department.

"A few days ago, he said Western civilisation hinged on whether the Republican-backed candidate won a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The election results are now in, and the West has fallen." 🌎 Freddie Hayward

Team- establishing a principles group for coordination here on Bluesky after that Signal fiasco. Pulling together a tiger team at deputies/agency Chief of Staff level following up from the meeting in the Sit Room. Do not add journos to the thread as we are currently 100% clean on OPSEC now πŸ‘ŠπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ”₯

Norwegian submarines among the Scottish Isles? That's not a vessel that appears on AIS very often...

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Two weeks ago, a Russian warship escorted a 'Syrian Express' cargo ship through the Channel. On Monday: two warships, three cargo ships. One of them, the Maia, is notorious for shuttling North Korean ammo to Russia. We went for a look, with @osc-london.bsky.social www.thetimes.com/uk/defence/a...

Extraordinary investigation by the Sunday Times, tracing London's stolen phones to Algeria, where criminal gangs fly dozens of phones at a time direct from Heathrow www.thetimes.com/uk/crime/art...

The Times is free to read this weekend, so why not go back and look at great pictures of Big Ships? We literally went to sea to get them for you www.thetimes.com/article/098a...

This Guardian article quotes an environmental scientist who claims the Stena Immaculate may have been "radar silent". If anyone had bothered checking, they would see that the tanker was broadcasting its location the entire time, and that its location history is publicly available on MarineTraffic.

UPDATE: The man arrested for gross negligence manslaughter is the master of the Solong, which ploughed into the side of the Stena Immaculate yesterday morning.

A ray of good news: owners of the Solong say it was not carrying sodium cyanide after all. It had been, and 4 containers on board had previously held it, but these appear to have been offloaded prior to its final voyage.

A cargo ship carrying toxic sodium cyanide hit a tanker transporting jet fuel for the US military while travelling full speed. Both ships are on fire and rescuers have been ordered back 2 miles for pollution Fresh footage, from firefighting efforts earlier, show smoke pluming from the containership

Collision of the Stena Immaculate and Solong in the North Sea could become a major oil spill. According to Kpler data, the tanker left Corinth carrying 128k barrels of refined crude. It doesn't appear to have offloaded prior to being hit by the Solong. More here www.thetimes.com/uk/transport...

The leader of a Russian spy ring slept with both his 'minions' then when they figured it out, he claimed he was in hospital with a brain tumour. On a video call with another spy, he wrapped toilet paper around his head to look like a bandage. www.thetimes.com/uk/crime/art...

Back in 2023, Maxar's website was proudly discussing its role in exposing Russian atrocities... bsky.app/profile/elio...

Maxar has cut off satellite imagery access to Ukraine, undoubtedly due to pressure from the U.S. government. This means that not just classified, but commercially available unclassified intelligence products are being cut off. I now fully expect Starlink to be next.

The Baltic Leader, a cargo ship sanctioned for transporting Russian weapons, passed through the Channel yesterday accompanied by a warship. Satellite imagery obtained by the OpenSourceCentre proves it came from Syria, and is carrying hardware from the bases there www.thetimes.com/uk/defence/a...

Yesterday, The Times went on a boat chase, to track down and photograph a Russian warship and cargo ship full of weapons as they transited the English Channel. We watched them, and they watched us back. Story coming soon...
