Well, fortunately the current administration is all about deregulation, which in the case of food will lead to even better quality chum, cause why would anyone want the government to stop food procurers from putting cancerous stuff into their products...
Most American's understanding of what is healthy comes from... profitable food producers. There is no "big broccoli". Seek wisdom from whole plant based recipes, https://nutritionfacts.org, and turn away from the tortured flesh on the tray.
There's a reason why anyone who has traveled a bit and tried McDonald's in different countries say that the worst ones are in the US. McDonald's uses local meat and the ones in Spain are impressively good in comparison
I am not even gonna parse that for all the wrong. Yet I will note that the goofy literalist part of my brain is picturing cows with lovely flowing dresses and bouncy locks of shiny hair.
He’s such a corrupt twerp. The best thing to happen to him would be for one of the criminals he launders money for to take offense at some shady deal he’s doiing.
Only guessing here, but presumably there's a bigger market for lobster in Boston or San Diego than there is Kansas or Colorado for basic logistics and food safety reasons, which also applies to exporting sea food to the EU.
biting trump's style never works. immediately comes off as insincere. it's like nixon, you can only develop an affect like that through having a deeply weird life story
Rich dude like this, gotta be a likelihood of a photo of him with foie gras and champagne somewhere. After all, there are no consequences for lying if it’s to serve Trump
Right wing health influencers have been whining about how toxic the American food system is for years and now they're mad that other countries do everything they can to keep our shit food out of their countries?
Of course, it's nothing to do with #Foodsafety! Ironically, #European, #EU #foodstandards are based on... wait for it... #NASA standards. Strange than, #US, #USA can get it right if they want! 😲
You realize that that fancy 'imported beef' is actually just American cattle we shipped overseas in 2016? They just slapped foreign labels on it, aged it questionably for 8 years, and now we're paying triple for our own meat with jet lag. Recognize/respect the elected #GlobalTradeGenius (satire BTW)
They hate our beef (and chicken and lobster and most every other meat/fish product) because the EU requires"from farm to fork ... full transparency, not only on animal health and food safety issues but also on environmental standards of production and animal welfare" that we are not able to provide.
If I was trying to promote a weird protectionist worldview I probably wouldn't complain to the whole world about how no-one wants to buy America's shitty garbage food.
They'll still be importing beef, and the Muricans will be paying more for it. A 5-10% increase to the price of a Big Mac may cause riots (of obese rednecks) on the streets.
"For almost three decades, the EU has banned the sale of red meat, and beef specifically, from livestock which have been raised using Hormone Growth Promotants (HGPs)."
I think it's only QLD that is still keen on injecting or spraying everything. Sadly many people abroad can't grasp that these things are state by state, so it all gets grouped as one, despite the all the organic stuff elsewhere. Unfortunately.
If you're wondering why we don't want beautiful US beef and other food in Europe, as someone who's been to the US and tried their food, I'll tell you: US food is crap. With all due respect, the amount of chemicals, additives, glucose syrup put into actually everything is beyond comprehension.
Our beef is GROSS. I used to eat beef all the time in Paris. (And horsemeat). Because I knew it was safer. But here? A lot harder to trust the sources. I’m on tinned fish now.
They need to be refrigerated BECAUSE they are washed since it removes a protective layer. The US does it, the EU doesn't but as far as I can tell it doesn't make salmonella more likely. That's a separate issue from the animal living conditions, which are the actual concern
It's *poop*. Even healthy chickens are likely to have E. coli in their gut. There's a reason ppl are supposed to wash their hands after handling pet birds or chickens.
Do Europeans really buy eggs from the supermarket with visible specks of poop on it?
I’ve never seen any poo on an egg, perhaps the odd feather though. The shell protects the inside from bacteria anyway and so long as you wash your hands after handling, I don’t see any issue.
I have a friend who works for an airline so visits US regularly. I may have misheard him but he was the one who stated putting eggs in a fridge was to stop salmonella. I accept it’s hearsay and not personal experience so could be wrong.
With all Donald’s deregulations, there’s little guarantee our products are safe. No one wants it, & therefore, they’re forcing Americans to buy it. Thanks to all who for voted him. Hope seeing his cruelty to those who oppose him & are different than you &/or those “tax breaks” were worth it for you.
One of the (admittedly less consequential) but really gross things we’ve had to bare witness to during this second Trump regime is how readily his little hangers on are willing to mimic the greats leaders speech to show their fealty. Can you imagine penny Pritzker saying something so stupid?
Me the next time I’m at a steak house: “Take my dish back to the kitchen. You gave me the weak beef. The marbling is woke. I want the beautiful beef. No, I’m not having a stroke.”
this is weird because I bought US beef yesterday at the butchers here in Germany which is in the EU (but also like ours is fine? it was just what they had on sale)
Yes, is later we get 11thC Anglo-Trump: See the French… can’t call them Franks any more. The French they let the Vikings stay, called them Normans.. NORMANS! Not normals I call them. Terrible people, terrible, terrible with the raiding and the killing of the monks… heathens we say, yes, yes we do.
They won’t take our meat because our farming methods & standards are so poor as is our food safety and hygiene standards. They’ve seen how many people in the US get serious food poisoning every year
Go to a Goodman restaurant in London where you can compare top end USDA beef with home grown Irish, Scottish and Hereford beef.
I prefer UK beef way more. USDA beef tastes like corn and it's way too 'sweet'.
I can categorically state that almost all US beef has more in common with polystyrene soaked in salty water, then with food. Artificially fed, caged, indoor, hormone and antibiotic treated, overstaffed, and then pumped with polyphosphates. The US obsession with cheap beef is an obscenity.
Microsoft Copilot provides a side-by-side comparison of beautiful beef with sad, weak beef. I am still perplexed which is which, but it is obvious that this ires me to no end and I cannot sleep during the night because of this.
Pretty much, it's also pumped to the eyeballs with antibiotics and I'm pretty sure the US doesn't restrict the feeding of beef byproducts to beef cattle...
They (USDA?) are p. good on preventing mad cow in ppl. Unless the cow is below a certain age (24 months?) the whole spine (minus the tail--no spinal cord in it) & most of the head is discarded during slaughter.
Dunno what the regulations on deer are. They've gotta be the bigger risk at this point.
I should have used "vehicles" instead of "cars" (and the Toyota RAV4 overtook the Ford F-150 in 2024), but the general point about size discrepancy still stands.
I don't see many pickups, but in a parking garage, seeing a Lincoln Navigator facing a Escalade is something scary. Those cars are so big, and I used to drive a 2004 Durango
Dunno, just saw it driving past, didn't have any obvious rental livery on it but they usually don't. Not sure what rental agency would choose to include Escalades in their fleet in Tokyo though...
Apart from the inanity of this statement, most American beef (and probably all raised for export) is flabby, corn-fed garbage. I’ve had horse meat in Italy that was better than most American beef.
The problem with US meat simply is that it is full with chemicals and other nasty stuff which is forbidden in this amount for good reason in other parts of the world. I know americans with food/digestion problems which relatively quickly go away once they are in Europe for a few weeks!
Comments
The US FDA allows scores of chemicals in foodstuffs that are banned in EU food production.
Buy European!

These fuckheads are so high on their own supply it’s quite staggering.
Beautiful beef, yeah, with you bro
Must be a german beer thing...
This is mental illness.
Apologies.
All he did was lie there and sweat.

"use open window with: brain"
Maybe KFC does feed cow shit to its chickens 💩
Same for Australian beef
Chicken is banned because of the chlorine cleaning process. US citizens are 5 times more likely to die from salmonella poisoning than in the EU
That might change now though
Imports of hormone treated beef is banned, including the US and Australia
What are you talking about?
The EU bans hormone treated beef from Australia
"For almost three decades, the EU has banned the sale of red meat, and beef specifically, from livestock which have been raised using Hormone Growth Promotants (HGPs)."
Sumo is much to gentle and respectful to produce good beef.
Don't know much about Japanese rappers...
Gross.
(How do they get the poop off the egg's surface without washing it? 🤔)
Do Europeans really buy eggs from the supermarket with visible specks of poop on it?
Until I saw the screenshot

No idea about lobster though lol.
Aberdeen Angus beef.
Wanted world wide.
Now costs Americans an extra 20%.
Oops.. Another American tax hike.
Just like champagne comes from the champagne region is France.
What is this moron talking about?
I prefer UK beef way more. USDA beef tastes like corn and it's way too 'sweet'.
UK beef is just beefier.
Send them Elon! 🤣
VV la Vera Fiorentina!

From what I'd heard it was mostly hunters copping it from their kills.

Sometimes they try to "upgrade" you to a large car even when driving and parking is an absolute pain.
