Found out today that a high school friend passed away. When my wife and I first moved back to GA, she reached out and we got lunch. That was the last time I saw her. I wish I had reached out since then. You never know when you won’t have the chance anymore.

Novel update: I hit the word count I was wanting to by Nov. 30 but the book isn’t finished. It decided it wanted to be a little bit longer. So I simultaneously hit my goal and failed my goal, but in a good way, I suppose.

It's weird that Looking for Alaska is the second-most banned book in the U.S., and mostly challenged by evangelical Christians, because the novel is about Radical Hope and how forgiveness is available to all people at all times, which are Christian concepts I wrote about because I'm a Christian.

The only way I can read books lately is via audiobook. I just finished Bag of Bones by Stephen King but I zoned out for a minute and missed something CRUCIAL. I had to go back and re-listen to a chapter because I was super confused. Downside of audiobooks for someone who is easily distracted.

I’ve been writing a novel since 2020. I started it during NaNoWriMo because the middle grade novel I wrote didn’t quite hit 50K words. I had no intention of finishing it but it stuck with me. I am almost finished with the first (horrible) draft. I am determined to finish by Nov 30.
