ESTAはかなり前からソーシャルメディア申告欄があるので、もしかすると聞いた覚えがあるのはそちらかもしれませんが、ESTAでの申告は今でも任意だったと思います。
DS-160/260は申告が必須なので、少し性格が異なるような気がしますし、ACLUなんかは却下すべきでない申請者を却下してしまう可能性が増す等の理由で反対していた覚えがあります。

彼は2019年に既に、DS-160/260というフォームを改訂して、非移民ビザ（H-1B等）や、米国外からConsular Processingという方法でグリーンカードを申請する人たち向けにはソーシャルメディアのアカウント開示を必須化しているので、これはその続きで、脅しの強化ですかね…。Fビザで滞在している留学生の脅迫やdeportも推進している様ですし😮💨

そうかもしれないですね。現在のEB-5の投資額が他国の類似制度と比べて低めなのは実際そうだと思うんですが、単に引き上げれば良かった気はします。今回の単なる永住権販売よりは、米国の雇用を産んだら永住権を与える、というEB-5方式のほうが理に適っている感じもしますし。
そういえばEB-5が廃止の危機という事で、そちら方面の投資にある程度頼っていた一部不動産プロジェクトなどはパニックモードらしいですね。お気の毒な事です…。
