How do you double down on the negative prefix? Dis is already the negative of abled. Nondis is just going through extra hoops to create the positive again.

You guys need some spine, dear god.

Don't you know you can't use subtle humour on autistic people?

Yeah, that's what you want, a bunch of angry, weapons-trained men with ptsd and no access to mental health services.

You guys are crazy to think you're getting legitimate elections by 2026, let alone 2028.

So desperate to be acknowledged 😔

The military won't intervene unless there are people on the streets. There aren't any generals who will conduct a coup out of their own desires. They'll do it if they see it's what the nation wants, and so far the nation has been all but bothered.

Seriously, MAGA might be a bunch of idiots but at least they understood rage and action and how to express indignation.

Time to start identifying all these Trump lickers

People forget that civility isn't something to take for granted. It's actively offered in exchange for one's needs being met. So if there's no more bread, there's no more civility.

It's not going to end the way you're fantasising. This will be about control, not about health. Within 12 months you're going to start hearing a lot of talk about purity and purification and they'll start controlling what people eat, banning vaccines, proposing ideal body compositions etc.

"doesn't want you to see" this guy is clearly pretty excited to show everyone

Is this the same prick who went to Greenland to find MAGA lovers?

I prefer the first actually. It's fresh and evokes imagery and emotion given the context that came before it, compared to the latter which is becoming stale in its overuse. It's also likely the historical root of the second phrase, so it's terrifying in itself to see the linguistic wheel turn anew.

When they fire you they control the narrative. They'll paint you as insubordinate, or low performance, unable to fulfill your duties. When you resign you get to decide the why.

It's about to be a glorious cultural revolution for these American peasants

Yes but Trump is following Putin's playbook for dictatorship. He doesn't want truly competent people in any position of power that could threaten his own. Mike Flynn could pose a danger to Trump.
comment in response to post
The danger there is: what lengths would he go to to keep his power and prove his usefulness?

or if you don't recognise yourself in that characterisation, then maybe you aren't American? Maybe you're something else? And maybe it's time to stop fighting for the story of the nation that you've lost and start building a new identity for a new nation of people that better captures your values.

people who voted him in and continue to support him. I would contrast that to the implicit support for the regime that comes from the general apathy and lack of resistance. The evidence shows that America is a land of oppression and hatred made possible by its awful people. And if that offends you

This comment section is what's wrong with the left. In the midst of a looming, potentially insurmountable enemy, you'd rather be divisive in your need to be right than to find unity in imperfect commonality. Let a story inspire people god damn. Did you not see that Simpsons episode?

Then everyone would know what it's like to live in Australia and how 14 hours is the shortest flight to anywhere

No. You can't point to MAGA narratives and say "look how we're the same." They are inherently disingenuous. Most of all with themselves. They don't know what they value or why they value it. They are walking contradictions who are entirely self-interested and will say whatever is most likely to win.

Currently reading the social contract now and it's insanely relevant. There's a part shortly after this that says the people's silence is the people's consent.
