First, you have to identify the problem, then make sure you’ve properly identified the cause, THEN you can work on solutions.
This sounds a lot like “why aren’t we just funding the solutions?”
He thinks he can skip the first two steps because he doesn’t believe “racism” can possibly be the problem

I believed that before you told me, but it’s reassuring to know it’s true.

I didn’t want to ruin him for you, but that dude with the arrow through his head? Saw him many times at dinner in the town where I grew up. He was never funny. Most boring dinner table I’ve ever seen.

I’ve got his salad dressing in the fridge.

Oh shit! Thanks for the reminder. I was just about to and got distracted by this site instead. Going to fix that right now.

As the old joke goes, an American diplomat and Soviet diplomat met up, and the American says "I really admire your country's propaganda." The Soviet says, "True, it is good, but it is nothing compared to American propaganda." The American, confused, responds "We don't have propaganda."

I figured anyone who knows Zardoz would know Buckaroo.
If not, it was going to be very confusing.

I have terrifyingly had someone say almost exactly that to me. She was a PoliSci major and very republican.
(She has also become incredibly wealthy and totally turned Liberal Democrat.)

One of my favorite things in college was when I had an excuse to use the Map Library or Document Archive. Handling the real deal, 100+ year old papers really felt like touching history. I was only able to justify it a couple times because they weren’t generally open to undergrads.

I grew up in a place with such a mild climate that many houses were built up through the 50s (at least) with zero insulation and AC was super rare.
In the last few years, it has had days over 100 (38c) and under 20 (-7c), almost unheard of when I lived there. People have suffered horribly.

It’s comforting to know that journalism is still happening.

I actually LOLed at that.
It says so much about what they think about the humans involved and the work that they do, and why they treat them as disposable assets and not creative artists.

You’d think that when they hear about someone like Khelif, it would cause them to reevaluate their simplistic thinking about sex and gender. Instead, it just breaks them and sends them spiraling, defending their ignorance as indisputable truth. Pathetic, really.

I was trying to identify what model it was based on, then realized the headlights looked like they came from a toy, not actual equipment. Then it just became more obvious.
But if I had looked quickly, I wouldn’t have noticed. I hate that.

Will do. I was a full grown adult, and I know all the bands that people have mentioned, I just never heard the term. It feels like a weird gap.

I have it in the afternoon and add that Mexican instant espresso for a caffeine bump. Cheap and easy Mocha.

Absolutely! I don’t listen to every episode, but I need to know about every one.
It took me a minute to realize I already followed her. Will definitely be listening.

Conservatives like everything in little boxes. They spend their lives trying as hard as possible to fit into them. They fear and resent those that don’t.
This is why liberals are over represented in science. Study any science long enough and the boxes get weird. Biology is particularly messy.

This is true and I also speak from personal experience.

I worked for so many companies that don’t exist anymore and haven’t for decades.
Fond memory: giant bin at a discount store of thousands of the Pets.com mascot as a puppet, like in the ads, days after they announced they were closing. Wish I had a picture. HUGE pile.
