Besides, Republicans already set the precedent for this. Under Republican president, they're all, "no big deal procedural vote". But with a Democrat in the White House, suddenly, "Oh em gee we are spending too much and the entire US economy is about to collapse unless you meet our demands!!!1!!"

I mean, of course they are. They can't help but play the victim.

So I either had to just put up with the abuse, or completely abandon my friends and not watch their channels anymore.
Turns out, friends not willing to stand up for me were friends not worth having.

Yeah, that's tough. I've had a similar issue when I was much more in the furry Twitch stuff. I had someone who had a problem with me and would be super passive aggressive about it. Yet other people, even when they acknowledged the behavior, wouldn't ban the guy.

Hey I like a little bit of a challenge. It's no fun if you don't even have to try.

I agree that talking to Republicans is often useless. Even if NC is a potential swing state, as someone who votes Democrat anyway, why would my state's US senators listen to my concerns? Protests certainly didn't sway our state Congress from passing abortion laws over our governor's veto.

I'm in a similar boat. I've had this account from when it was invite only, but didn't do much with it.
Too tired of Twitter being full of right wing extremists.

Yeah, really. It doesn't take much in terms of vague and/or broad legislation for us to be impacted. And that's exactly what the Republican party does when they have enough power.

Hehe, I figured as much, but it appeared on my feed and I was a rather confused foxxo for a moment.

I'm always on the later shift.
I couldn't imagine being there for opening though. 6 AM is like, the middle of my usual sleep cycle.

Yeah, I feel the same way, at least with the economy. Democrats can yell about the danger Trump poses, but nothing really drives the message home than it actually happening.
It's not that I want people to suffer, but it's basically inevitable at this point.

But the Maga vote didn't decide the election. They would vote Trump no matter what.
It's the "undecided swing voter" who rarely pays attention to politics who ended up deciding that grocery prices were cheaper four years ago, so they would vote against the incumbent president.
