The “office liberal,” now retired. Blue oasis in a purple state. USAF vet. Traveler. Sporadic writer of haiku - some published. From now on, we must all refer to trump, now a known Russian asset, only as Krasnov.

Yes, I questioned them about that, which is how I got pulled into this. Looks like any bad behavior is in their overreaction… which I’m going to let them know.

Ugh. This follows on the same path as the old Norman Vincent Peale mantra of positive thinking… along with the belief that failure to achieve goals just proves you weren’t committed enough, and so deserved failure. There are parallels in much religious thinking as well. Never with good outcomes.

Not sure how I got in the middle of this, as I don’t really interact with them. Ha, reminds me of when I was still working. And now I’m out of it.

courts, and in effective messaging - which we’ve always sucked at.
One of my follows was upset to be on your blocked list, thinking it was a public rather than private one. I don’t know which it is, but feel a public one could be counterproductive. Not that anyone asked me.
Thanks for responding

You make a valid point. Many Dems, however, legitimately feel that our reps have been too passive in the face of the maga onslaught. As the GOP has repeatedly shown, obstructionism by the minority can be effective, and we need to apply pressure to ensure the Dems use that - in Congress, in the…

It’s tragic that the “wellness” community, which includes many who are otherwise lefty, has found common ground on this issue with right-wing cultists. Wish I knew how to deprogram that many people.

Will do. Some people have a hair trigger for blocking, which is so counterproductive. She may be one of those.

Well, that’s my confusion. Why would a blue account object to asking congresspeople to do more? Do you have any insight? I’m happy to block, as there are enough blue accounts here, that we don’t need to chance a questionable one… but hate to block if not deserved.

Could you explain further? This account appears to be legit blue, so what am I missing?

I’m old enough to have seen the original Allman Brothers with Duane and Betts in a 1500-seat college auditorium. Didn’t know who they were, recommended as a “regional band breaking out,” and they blew us away! Whipping Post for 20 minutes, had to step outside to recover!

Really? Your generosity far exceeds mine. These people were indulging in willful ignorance and arguing when presented with facts long before trump was sworn in. They’re only upset now because they’re feeling the same pain as everyone else.

So this “dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress” in Homan’s words, has him begging for help, and his feeble brain tied up in knots. What does that make him?

Too many Dems in Congress are choosing to remain passive in the hope the MAGA’s will finally anger the population enough to take action. That’s a high risk/high reward gamble, and frankly they‘ve never been very good poker players.

Pence should just get in line alongside McConnell, Susan Collins, and all the other enablers who squandered their chances to rein in this psychopath when they had the chance.
The line? Oh yeah, it’s to receive all the fuck-you’s we’re handing out.
Their concern doesn’t mean squat now.

Many thanks to @glarekal.bsky.social and
@quickbear.bsky.social for telling me about ground.news, a great alternative to Google News. If you want to avoid the Google hegemony in your news feed, as well as get a bias check on what you’re reading, this is a great source.

Did it on both Google and Apple Maps. Apple now grays out the send button if you choose “incorrect name” for this location, so choose “something else” instead to proceed. Guess they’ve been flooded?
