Hey I just got my first job from a connection I made on Bluesky, which is a connection I never would have made on Instagram. You can and should get off meta, it will be okay.

I’ve been pretty pissy the last few months.

Oh hey I wrote a blog post for @visualartspassage.bsky.social give it a peak and learn about the surprising origins of those prayer hands everyone gets tattooed on them. visualartspassage.com/blog/albrech... #sciart

Little honeysuckle and firefly gap fillers, all the other work is not mine :) #tattoo #botany #entomology

I’m sometimes struck to consider the profound impact bats have had on our imagination as a species. We slap bat wings on everything! On a lizard? Dragon! On a lion? Manticore! On a statue? Gargoyle! On a pig? Demon! On a man? Also demon! On a goth man? Vampire!

👇👇👇 this movie could so easily have been completely stupid but it’s incredible and fun and I should rewatch it.

Yes hello I am behind at everything and it is stress. Lucy is not helping.

Honeysuckle gap filler for a tattoo tomorrow. 🥰 #tattoo #botanicalart #sciart

I have identified one (1) ethical use of generative art AI:

Tonight is the night! Come say hi and hang out :)

Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."

I want to go to this SO BAD but I have another meeting at that time. Someone go to it and tell me the things pls.

Scientists, Artists, Activists & those in between. Want a practical introduction for how to do street art? Not that you would, of course. Merely an academic pursuit! All purely theoretical 🧐 Get up to speed on precisely how to theoretically make stickers & wheatpastes. 3/3 8pm EST lu.ma/53ks8h33

I'm seeing a lot of support for fired scientists and environmental professionals, which is great But a lot is phased is "just keep doing your important work," and I need you to know that these are early career people with student loans and no savings, and they need income for food and shelter.

✨new and improved✨ art night coming this Monday, Feb 24 at 5pm in Lexington! This time I’ll have some coloring pages and tools, as well as materials to make name tags! Come say hi and hang out with us! :)

I’d love to do one of these on you if you’re in KY ❤️

I’m returning physical inking to my process for tattoos. It looks and feels better. Procreate is fantastic, but I learned to draw like this and I’m coming home to it. I’m working toward no stenciling at all, and all designs drawn directly in your skin. Just human hands in your artwork, nothing else.

I know everyone loves a little possum face, but have we considered: little bat face. (Not my photo and I’m not sure where it came from I’m sorry 😭)

As trans histories are actively being erased, it's important to remember those trans trailblazers that came before. One of the most iconic being the legend Marsha P. Johnson. Read more about Marsha, her legacy, and the origin of these images on FMA's blog! www.faulknermorgan.org/blog/2022/9/...

Burying Beatles for Valentine’s Day. These are bugs in LOVE. These insects mate in the corpses of small mammals on the forest floor. They work together to bury the body and lay eggs which they watch over until they pupate. I made art of them for the Bugs Need Hero’s podcast last fall :)

I watched just enough superbowl to see an ad for a t-mobile/starlink team up and now I gotta change my fuckin phone number.

What if we made a map that pleases nobody. (Thanks to @krisheartwood.bsky.social for the joke)

These cats have hated each other for two years but now sometimes they will sit almost but not quite touching.

👇👇👇 I like looking at art, but at the end of the day I’m trying to sell it.

It’s almost as if, unable to make computers smarter than people, we just settled on getting computers to make people dumber.

I’ve been having a hard time waking up in the morning, but on the flip side I’ve been having a hard time falling asleep at night. I’ve always been a morning guy, nighttime productivity is new to me. But I’ll take it.

Tonight! We should be able to squeeze it in before the weather hits :)

Do you remember when building shitty subdivisions in the Middle East was a funny, far-fetched joke they did on Arrested Development

You’re also just robbing yourself of the joy of thinking. Using your mind is good and fun actually. Practicing a skill is good and good for you.

What the fuck this is coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

Maybe you want a nice spider tattoo for Valentine’s Day idk I don’t know you.

This Monday! Come draw with us :)
