Ok, maybe not *every* other type... there is the never type (!)... but... does that count? Isn't that more of like a compiler hint?

I've ever bothered to make fully click in my head since they're weird. You can't assign a variable to them, unlike every other type.

Ah ok. Those types (dyn T and [T] and also str) are not something I'm super familiar with. I know how &dyn Trait, Box<dyn Trait>, &[T], Box<[T]>, &str and Box<str> work (and I guess you could replace Box with Rc/Arc/etc) but those types without the & or Box are not something that <cont.>

(gah need an edit button and more characters)
"*const u8" not "const u8"
accidentally kept a colon in the 3rd size_of. there were more that i had to remove to fit within character limit

Fat pointers are a thing, like Box<dyn Trait> and &[T], but you're creating a whole new regular pointer type in the generic argument, right?

I'm definitely getting something wrong here, I know you're better at this stuff than me, but I'm just not getting it. As far as I know, *const T, no matter what T is, should be the same size as *const AnyOtherType.

Ok but I'm not seeing any Boxes. you're comparing size_of *const T and size_of const u8. T could be a Box, and size_of: Box<dyn Trait> might be bigger, but you're not comparing the size of T, you're comparing the size of a pointer to T. T might have some fatness, but that's in T, not a pointer to T.

How in the world would pointers have different sizes?

I interpreted it as the good man being the Doctor, at least in River's eyes, and Kovarian thought that's how he saw himself, though he doesn't (hence the "good men don't need rules" line). While the Doctor doesn't think he is, all his friends do. And Dorium was definitely referring to the Doctor.

Is it just me or is the purple a bit too lavender for the ace flag?

I really do like Apprentice's colors, though it applies it in some ways I'm not quite a fan of. I could take its colors and do my own thing with them, but then like... is that ok? It has an MIT license but like... idk

Kitty and neovim have different background colors?

I try to make my own again, using math and OKLCH, and the colors just aren't working good. Especially yellow... yellow is weird. And then catppuccin has so much already done and it's enticing... I could get used to the purple...

github.com/romainl/Appr... is nice and similar to what I was wanting to do. I'd have to port it but that's not too big of a deal
comment in response to

But they have so many ports just already ready. I barely have to do anything... But I prefer Gruvbox's gray to Catppuccin's purple... ugh fine I'll stick with Gruvbox. Maybe I'll try again with making my own theme at some point, idk
comment in response to
post
I was kinda wanting to make my own theme, bit more gray and muted than gruvbox, but I'm not good at color theory. And Catppuccin is kinda in the opposite direction of "more gray and muted"

Nebula does it too. Video hosting is very expensive, so unless you're a huge company like Google or Disney or Netflix, it's a very convenient option
