Coppola's Dracula is frustrating because technically it's very well made and so much of the cast is wonderful (there's not enough Richard E. Grant in the world) but it's 100% held back by the script.
A bad film is one thing but one that's close to being great and fumbles it seems a lot worse imo

The only thing that could ever make Elon Musk cool is if he ****** Trump on Nation Television while announcing he's given away all his wealth to the people, that this has all been an elaborate Andy Kaufman-esque gag and promptly explodes on the spot.
And even then I'd just say he's mid.

If your job, as in the thing you're paid (presumably even overpaid) for, is to know a topic, you could have been fucking bothered to read the Wikipedia page in the topic at a bare minimum.
I'm american and somehow know who FDR, Stalin *and* Churchill (he's British, I checked) all are.

After something like 11 movies I'm quite comfortable with my shoestring budget and my nostalgia being exploited by full moon pictures 😂
Besides if the trade off for quality is *that* then I'm good thanks

There's a soft conspiracy theory that the Allies were obsessed with appearing humane ( a thing that is true Post-War) but still wanted performative cruelty at the executions so they purposely sought out a guy like John Woods to botch the job so they theoretically have their cake and torture it too

It's funny because it's probably one of the more technically competent films in that series but it's written by a guy who...
I just keep coming back to mean spirited. Like it's just petty, bigoted and cruel in ways that aren't fun to watch.
comment in response to
post
As I understand it he was hired because
1. Nobody else wanted the job
2. The guy was basically deeply unqualified for anything else, most likely including this job
comment in response to

It really ain't though.
As fan I think taking the goofy novelty series about dolls killing Nazis, making *them* Nazis and all their targets being minorities killed off in mean spirited ways is deeply insulting to the brand generally and not a fun flick to sit through specifically
comment in response to

I can see making a western racist on accident but that Puppet Master thing rubbed me the wrong way enough to read what his other flicks were about and Yeah, none of this shit sounds interesting or fun and with leads like Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn it's easy as hell to avoid lol
comment in response to

I like Bone Tomahawk and was willing to give the guy a pass;
Then I saw the Puppet Master movie he wrote, a goofy series usually about dolls killing Nazis and he made the puppets Nazis themselves and it was just one of the most mean spirited movies I'd ever seen.

Random History Lesson;
The man whose job it was to execute Nazis post-war was an American who was either so inept/hated Nazis so much he designed the gallows and noose in such a way they often wouldn't break their necks from the hanging;
One Nazi took 45 minutes to suffocate.
Food for thought.

I don't know who/when this started but this "looking at govt like a business that should operate in the black" shit instead of a service that provides for folks has to be some of the most toxic shit I've ever had to roll my eyes at.
Money's fake, we made it up, jesus christ these people

I'd say it's pretty fucking bad if this is your job and didn't even do the bare minimum of reading a Wikipedia article *before* talking about a subject.

As someone who watched during that era I feel it's worth noting we were usually literal children so the idea some thought folks were... Hacking into videos???... sounds correct.
Forgive us, we were just coming off of Santa Claus not being real, there's only so much we could process at a time 😂

Ignoring Mitch's history of being the guy who's personal mission was to butt fuck the Supreme Court, thus ensuring Trump avoids meaningful prosecution for his crimes, just because he did a superficial thing you like is *exactly* what these people do, man.
comment in response to
post
How is that not specific?
You look at the actions of these people and you *know* who I'm talking about.
You want me to name names, post addresses or something?
Because folks did that with Musk's Doge employees and there's a real fear of those folks being arrested.
comment in response to

You're not asking Why though.
The man isn't running for office next go around.
Paul Ryan did this same shit, help Trump get in, ducked out after, and talked shit about the administration from the safety of private life.
Mitch is doing the same thing.
It's purely symbolic.

The current administration that encourages and legislates hate against immigrants and queer folks? The one where the chief bank roller did a Nazi salute at a rally and regularly uses his platform to promote hate speech.
Yeah, they're bad, didn't really feel like you needed your handheld for that.
comment in response to
post
No, don't do that shit;
Mitch is one of the grave diggers of democracy and even passive aggressively suggesting he's got a spine is a disservice that plays into the narrative he's trying to make-
"Well I'm not one of the bad ones."
Fuck him.

I didn't compare the two once, that's on you.
We're talking about political violence and when it's okay versus when it's too extreme in which case Yes, Nazis are gonna come up.
Also are you about to do some real bed shitting by suggesting Hitler was a leftist?
Fam surely you're not that stupid.

The enemy is anyone who pushes legislation that criminalizes human beings rather than actions and support/enable genocide in any of it's forms.
It's not complicated and it can absolutely apply to both sides of America's two major political parties.

I'm genuinely trying to unpack the naked cowardice of saying Yes Actually, folks needed to wait for Hitler to invade Poland before resorting to violent resistance as if nothing was wrong before that.
You ain't a serious person,
Rethink your positions before subjecting folks to your nonsense.
comment in response to
post
Like I said, nobody wants conflict;
They understand the realities of that.
What exactly is your alternative?
The enemy doesn't care about the rule of law or civility and the opposition party is demonstrably toothless against it.
You'd have us wait until black vans abduct folks off the streets?
comment in response to

And you're gonna decide when it's retaliation and when it's indiscriminate violence?
When exactly was the line with Mr. Hitler, that Beer Hall brawl or did he need to invade Poland first?
comment in response to
post
Nobody sane wants violence but anyone who's paid attention to history knows there eventually comes a point when violence against oppression is the only option left available;
To deny it or insist upon nonviolence in the face of fascist oblivion is naive at best or some appeasement bullshit at worse

Serena is a tennis legend, yes.
She's also a black woman and frankly your inability to understand that alone, all by itself, makes her on the wrong side of a power imbalance in this society that trumps everything else is, again, naive.
That inequity exists, regardless of stature or wealth.

I don't want to leave this merely implied but I don't disagree with you on how things *should* work in a better world but I think pretending like there aren't huge hurdles that exist for women (even rich celebrity ones) confronting men in a patriarchal society is naive.

You still ain't taking the power dynamics into account here;
Harvey Weinstein was abusing academy award winners as an open secret for decades and nobody did shit.
That and there's a difference between Drake *now* and Drake literally a year ago before all his credibility was nuked by Kendrick.

I for one welcome the Transing Cosmic Rays washing over the earth.

That's not reality;
Reality is going after a powerful dude who has millions of followers is often a recipe for ruining your own life.
You can google the shit Cosby's victims went thru to try and get their justice *and he was let go*.
Women have to gage their own safety when pursuing justice.

That just ain't how it works, fam.
And I think you're underestimating just how utterly enormous Drake is (well, was.) in the industry.
The man spent over a decade with only Taylor Swift as his chief rival as *the* lifeblood of the popular music scene.

Yeah I think the idea that every game released has to make all the money in the world is what poisons all other aspects and features until every element and angle is a thing to be monetized

The idea of early play or loot boxes is (more or less) fine in isolation I think;
The problem part of it is when it becomes financially motivated to give players an edge over folks unwilling/unable to pay.

"Alex Garland's movie seems largely uninterested in the journalism he claims it's about" and not
"why character no have equipment in this moment"?
