I'm glad to see the "enjoy the camps" liberals have diversified their portfolio to include "enjoy homelessness" on my timeline. These people run election campaigns on being the "good guys" somehow.

Cool thing of the day: Still Going through my GDQ backlog. Glad nothing else happened today that left people being weird on the internet.

Cool thing of the day: Colgera's theme remains a highlight of TotK. There's something to be added in regards to Molgera, the Wind Waker boss being referenced, but the youtube comment section has that part covered.

Cool thing of the day: Going into the backlog for some Metroid Speedrun content.

No cool thing today. Distinct lack of cool things.

Cool thing of the day: Turns out, if you have something that takes up most of your free time suddenly, you quickly amass a backlog of other things you would have been watching. So, I can probably post about Hotfix vods for the foreseeable future.

Cool thing of the day: I have to make these last, so Dan Spencer listened to the second part of the Pokemon DPP soundtrack. Next part is upcoming Saturday.

Cool thing of the day: Now that I got that out of my system, look at this. We love a good sequel around here.

You wouldn't know from reading this New York Times story about Trump punishing the University of Pennsylvania for trans athletes that there are no trans athletes on women's teams at the University of Pennsylvania because the New York Times didn't find that detail worth including

Cool thing of the day: Saw a Youtube video that promised a silly Pokemon-related math problem that "almost" (repeated by choir!) made it into one of those math contests for students, but it was really bland, it didn't lean into the premise at all. You could do it with cats and nothing would change.

Cool thing of the day: Watched a youtuber do some of those VGM quizzes and it got me thinking: Which piece from a popular game would you pick that is hard to guess. I started with the Splatoon 3 Splatoween Crab-N-Go theme but I feel like Riptide Rupture would also trip people up.

Cool thing of the day: Since I'm kind of at a loss at what to post today, I'll share my favourite track in the Aero GPX soundtrack. That guitar solo at 1:05 always reminds me of Pokemon music for some reason (I mean that as the highest praise I can give). Myrone did a phenomenal job with it.

Cool thing of the day: Oh boy, car-based Mario Party, my favourite kind. Thankfully The Car is a lot more enjoyable when you don't have to play yourself. Looking forward to this series.

Cool thing of the day: Having a tough time thinking about what to post today, so it's time for Kirby music. Sword of the Surviving Guardian from Forgotten Land is such a banger. Highlight of the piece is the brass section.

CrossCode is $5.99 on GOG buff.ly/lcNwmoF #ad

Cool thing of the day: Got around to watching Cadence Hira's video on water level themes. This one spent a lot of time with "the classics", although, it's hard to see how that could be avoided given the subject matter.

Cool thing of the day: Frost Fatales is on. Currently the modded Mario Odyssey run is amazing. As per usual, come on by, have a good time and please consider donating to a great cause.

Cool thing of the day: Tested the new Metroid Fusion Randomizer that's currently in beta-testing and it's looking promising. Did not enjoy, however, getting Missiles basically last. Had to do a bunch of backtracking to kill a lot of bosses I walked past.

Cool thing of the day: Starting to get into less vanilla picks here. Play around with the settings on this one, personally I made the compass way smaller and the map more zoomed out. There's a lot of overhead "simulation" stuff you can enable if you like busywork, I guess.

Cool thing of the day: After having been out of it for two days now, things are finally looking up. So, with that it's time for a triple. To start with:

Youtube really doesn't let you add an account to the TV app if you try to use Firefox to do it. It will let you go all the way to the end of the process and then throw the old "unknown error" at you. Bunch of charlatans.

Cool thing of the day: Still not feeling great, but better. Anyway, this week's Jimquisition, looking at a game I never played nor heard of, kept my attention in a way few things have today. One thing to note is, back then, basically all games were weird like this.

Cool thing of the day: This day was miserable and full of pain. While chronic pain patients, for whom this is a regular occurance, might rightfully say I had it easy, I still spent the entire day unable to think straight, or muster any kind of movement. I barely ate.

Cool thing of the day: Listening to Dan Spencer taking apart one of my absolute favourite OSTs out there. Hop on in live or check out the VOD after.

Cool thing of the day: Dynamic Skies is basically as close as you can get to "objective improvements" in modding. There's options for HD or to lean harder into the pixel look, so it will fit what you're going for in any case.

Cool thing of the day: Waaaaah. As per usual with The 8-Bit Big Band, there's some clever choices in here for the people who went to school for jazz. Frankly, that stuff goes way over my head, I'm just happy to see the jazz people in the comments excited.

Friendly reminder that EA’s photosensitivity tool (IRIS) is free for everyone to use if you need it. In this case, it could save literal lives. github.com/electronicar...

Mini #gamedev thread, very important. As of December it has been illegal under EU GPSR law to for software put on the market in Europe to present a safety risk to consumers, and explicitly to disabled people. Flashes/flickers present a clear safety risk to people with photosensitive epilepsy.

It's willingly ignorant to assign blame for AAA games studios being shuttered at anything other than corporate mismanagement and incompetence from an avaricious executive class. This is an industry where corporate suits saw monkey jpegs and thought "Yes, this is the future of gaming!"

Cool thing of the day: So, I was watching someone react to video game music on Youtube (as one does), and they didn't catch something that I did (probably because they got distracted by chat, but still). It's about this piece here. Also, they didn't play the game and are therefore missing context.

Cool thing of the day: Speaking of quests being on a timer, Convenient Quest Log is basically a requirement if you don't want to lose your mind with the fictional month and day names.

Cool thing of the day: Daggerfall modding: Moving on to less expected features we have Convenient Clock. Because a HUD element showing the time might be useful in a game where every quest is on a timer and shops and guilds have limited opening hours.

Cool thing of the day: Getting it out early today, adef made a sequel to his victory road trainer video, it's pretty good. Go check it out.

Man, I love Daggerfall. I arrived in a new town checking out the shops. There are two general stores right next to each other. One is called "The Superior Warehouse" and literally next door is the "Bargain Warehouse". The first is thoroughly average and the second is best in quality.
