Is this protest a consequence of their Brexit vote🤷♂️ if the economy was in better shape the chancellor wouldn’t have come looking for pennies under the sofa, fuck around find out.
This is a point I tried to raise at the other place but with no response. The Country is 2.7 trillion in debt, this is not an ideological battle, this is as you say finding whatever they can. Personally I think it’s important the blood scandal & post office scandals are compensated. This helps
The same gum boots
protesting against trade deals with countries that have lower welfare standards, same that protested against additional red tape in order to trade with nearest neighbour, same that protested against the bare face lies espoused by Reform(Brexit party) and Tory carpet baggers???
Why are they travelling to London in wellies? Do they go to the theatre in wellies. I worked on building sites, hi viz jackets and steel toe boots; but when I travel to London, I travelled in shoes.
Wearing wellies doesn't automatically make a person a farmer whose farm would be affected by increased IHT. Can we please report on this protest & disruption to London in exactly the same way as an XR or Just Stop Oil protest? Barbour jackets don't give people a free pass for disrupting ambulances
These farmers should be more annoyed with people like Clarkson and Dyson who have invested in farmland to avoid IT, thus pushing prices up, than with the government for trying to close a loophole...
...I'll wager that, rather than being annoyed about the IT liability, they're more upset that their investment might go down in value now that the loophole doesn't exist anymore.
The ancestors of these large estates benefited from the theft of common land from the people who lived there under the enclosure act in 18th Century and forced them into cities to be exploited by the new industrialists. It’s payback time.
I must confess, that is my usual footwear in rural central England (where too many rich townie people buy up farmland like Clarkson, just to play and to avoid inheritance tax)
It’s all a bit of a doo in the UK right now, Isn’t it !? I’m so fortunate that thanks to Brexit I no longer have to give a damn.
I’l just carry on having my lunch & gloating.
Rubber boots in London? That’s very silly… and uncomfortable.
Bad choices - no wonder farming is only 0.7 of our GDP and most farmers fucked themselves over by voting FOR Brexit.
I’m confused if the figures say only a few hundred would be affected by the tax changes then why is there 10’s of thousands protesting and why does Clarkson so 96% will be affected? There are two alternate realities going on here.
Seems a bit judgemental. I’ve worn my Barbour and wellies on a protest
The reason it’s not a normal protest is because journalist and the media are giving it more airtime than they have the Gaza protest or any others that don’t fit the current narrative
And no-one will be arrested
Ha. Love a welly. Is it any different to people driving SUVs in London or any other reasonably designed low-lying, non-blizzard prone city? #dressingup
Cheaper brands are available at livestock markets. My family are farmers and they don't dress in tweed jackets, leather caps or wear Hunter wellies. They aren't protesting either as they have to look after the livestock and ensure access to fresh water. It's freezing in Derbyshire.

When it's the posh landowners they are called freedom fighters....
How did that go Jon?
Farming needs to adapt or die.
That’s largely where the sensibleness ends with this one, unfortunately.

Perhaps you're too young to remember.
It was glorious.
Most farmers own more than one pair of boots, so the CHOICE is a bit of a give away.
