I hear Slovenia is very nice - sure it’s a bit of a hike from Berlin, so stop off in Austria on the way and have a kasekrainer and a schnitzel washed down with Krugerl (500ml) of Stiegl.
I love the INTENTION of having plans for something scheduled far in advance and then the absolute SUDDENNESS of finding out the event you had intended all that planning for is RIGHT FUCKING NOW.
I’m having the same experience booking for the UK at the last minute and geez those hotel prices. 😬 I can afford an AirbnB caravan 30 km out of town probably. 😆
It took me more than 6 months to plan a 10 day China trip in Jan last year. It almost killed me (the “planning” I mean, the trip was fine). Only did it that way b/c I was travelling with two of my boys.
Little bit scary but mostly exciting! I'd be inclined to play more travel roulette and jump on an overnight train to somewhere that sounds good - maybe somewhere you haven't been before. So many options! I've currently got very bad travel envy 😹
I remember flying over Spain on way to UK (at night from USA) and looking down on all the, what looked like circle village lights thinking, "So have to go there"!
But never did! Got a BIG HUNCH you will enjoy Spain!
Have fun! Traveling is stressful & tiring, but let t go an enjoy the experience!

The Dolomites in northern Italy are also very special if you’re looking to chill and simply marvel at marvellous mountains and stuff.
I can recommend a fantastic local driver if you happen to go there.
Pretty sure he is house sitting and has always been a very "crash on my couch when I have a couch and I'll crash on yours when you have one" kinda guy. 🥳
