a lot of people have this reflexively dismissive and contemptuous attitude towards this technology to the point of refusing to even learn how it works, which is going to be a real problem as this stuff improves, because you are going to need to understand (a little about) how it works to spot it

It's a minor inconvenience & could be done as a watermark just to make sure that it isn't abused to harm People.
What do you suggest we try out now that they've changed a lot? Any specific tools?
(I will go back and try things again eventually but it would be useful if anyone reading has suggestions).
I know how to use it (and spot it), and I still hate lt.

Its presumably interpolating many actual comedians absorbed into its network, and using a mashup of them to present a stolen joke.
The "black box" gives the plagiarism plausible deniability, at least until someone finds a nearly identical video...
Are you just stringing words together or what
People shooting a messenger because they're mad about AI doesn't display sound reasoning skills.
People who don't possess strong reasoning skills are more susceptible to fraud.
Or Perhaps this is a second subset of people who are, conveniently, Not You, who are susceptible?
"people who think AI shitty joke comedian is bad" is not who I was singling out for opprobrium.
It was people getting personally angry at someone saying "Hey folks, this is what AI can do now with video, you should be prepared."
I'm saved!
I don't like living in the goddamn wild west
But I also spent a couple years going to open mics in Austin, so, the quality level is about right.
there are some places where actual not-online lynch mobs will form around u over simple things u say. the combination of that w this tech is horrific
If you dismiss it because it's fake, therefore you'll be unable to know that it's fake meaning that you didn't dismiss it?
You have to accept things to learn about them in order to properly reject them?
e.g. this joke doesn't work too well in an American accent because Americans don't generally use "shit" as an adjective the way the British love to
You don't need to have much imagination to see how horrific this gets.
"Wow, what a shit game."
"Well that was a shit meeting."
"The car dealership gave me a shit deal."
Taken without permission, payment, or crediting the actual creators.
That's why I despise AI.
where is the intellectual curiosity
