Hundreds more babies died than expected in the year and a half after the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion in June 2022, raising questions about the ripple effects of the ruling on maternal and child health.

Absolutely. I remember back in the day warning Twitter dudes what was coming their daughters way. (it is men, after all who are overwhelmingly anti-abortion. They don't even know it is a medical term for anything that causes the uterus to evacuate. Including miscarriage.)
it was only "unexpected" bc you actively ignored all the women - and plenty of men - telling you this would happen. (also, this is the result conservatives wanted. "punishing" women this way is part of how they control us)
This was entirely expected, foreseeable, and the desired outcome of these policies
You ghouls will never stop covering for insane policies using this "no one could've seen this coming" language, I wish y'all's mother's had aborted you
"The sky brightened considerably this morning after a large yellow orb appeared on the horizon, raising questions that the two events might be related."
Babies are the consequences of whatever you've done with your partner down there (except for casuistic cases). Will you only want the excitement of making babies but refuse to deal with the outcome? 🙄
Pro life is pro torture. Non-viable fetuses do not survive after birth, and carrying to term is both painful and agonizing for the mother AND the baby. What did they expect was going to happen??
Let's not forget about the maternal mortality rate, which in Texas alone has gone up by 56%! They're NOT Pro-Life, they are pro control. AND they want to use the 14th Amendment to give a fetus full personhood.

Being “pro-life” while opposing every program designed to assist children is nothing but empty virtue signaling
More likely it's a direct effect 🙄
Action alleviates anxiety. *Now it's time to vote* in numbers too big to successfully contest.

Futile pregnancies are going to term.
Fucked up people whose only quality life decisions would be getting abortions aren't getting them.
What is there to ponder?

Putting the government in the middle of painful health decisions is a recipe for TORTURE and futile care, which is both expensive and cruel.
i dunno seems pretty straightforward that when a broad category of medical procedures becomes illegal health outcomes will be worse
the headline makes it seem like doctors 'arent sure' or something
these are scientists - this is as confident as they get
Who ignores the continued threat of a 60 year (potentially more) conservative court?
Who keeps sane washing the guys responsible for this?
