Lost my dog about 7 months agoβ¦i finally got a pup a month ago. After decades of pets i have found best remedy is another.
We adopted a rescue day after and now we have a pup.
Life is better. I miss all my dogs, cats, birds etc over 20 of them.
I know that feeling man. Iβm so sorry. We only got a couple years with our little old lady rescue, but she was the perfect dog who loved absolutely everyone and everything. I still miss her.
Sorry for your loss. We're looking at maybe a few more months with our special boy, and we know the house will be too quiet without him too. There's something special these lil critters add to our homes.
It may not feel enough time (it never does) but you gave her five years of love and family. That's a blessing so many never get to experience. She was a lucky girl. My condolences. x
It's the worst part of having fuzzy little buddies. I just lost mine recently as well, and I'm not used to having nobody to talk to! Thanks for providing such a great life for them β€οΈ
Dude, I'm so sorry. 2 of my 3 idiots ate a frog apparently and one almost died and I found my favorite curled up under a tree Friday. Fucking devastating man. Truly sorry for your lost pupper.
We lost our favourite dog last year very unexpectedly. To this day, what's been the hardest is looking where she used to sleep or hang out, and seeing an empty spot. Not hearing her barks. It's very tough.
So sorry. I lost my pup just about a year ago today to a freak neurological condition (he was just over two years old). Went and got a new puppy a week later, and while I was a bit freaked out about it at first, it was absolutely the best thing I could have done.
This was the unexpected sadness trigger for me when I lost my dog earlier this year. I kept *hearing* her in the house. And seeing her out of the corner of my eye.
Iβm so sorry. When I had to let go of my Winnie, I sat on the rug and cried. After a moment I noticed the feel of little objects and looked up to see my rescue cat, Wolfy, bringing me every little toy in the house. Winnie was his Mommy, who cared for him as he struggled to thrive. Love goes on. β€οΈ
I've been thinking about you and your dog for days.
It's really unfair that with all the rest of the human shit going on that our four legs can die.
Can we not catch a break as a species?
Is life not hard enough?
Oh, Iβm so sorry! Itβs always so devastating. Every single time I tell myself βnever againβ bc I donβt feel like Iβm going to make it through. And every single time, I find a little fur babe who needs me. Whatβs the Godfather 3 line? Every time I think Iβm out, they pull me back in!
good on you for adopting an adult or senior dog. we've done it twice, and we very much felt that we lost both pups way too soon. wished that we had more time
Sincerest condolences. We had a sweet cockapoo that we rehomed at 10 from a friend of our daughter. He was with us for nearly 4 years before a brain tumor overcame him. He was a total joy, and we still think of him fondly ad often.
Sorry to learn of Korra's passing. My condolences.
Someone once said that the hurt you feel when someone passes is just the love you didn't get to express when they were alive.
each and every minute with our pets is special because they're literally only here for a minute. and somehow, i think they understand that too. you're only a better person for having cared for another living being,.
I'm so sorry about Korra. I'm glad she got to live out her days in a good home with people who loved her. You are a wonderful family to have given her a home when she lost her owner.
So very sorry to learn of Korraβs crossing. Losing precious family like Korra is heartbreaking.
But a day will come when thoughts of her antics will bring smiles, not tears.
My sincere sympathy on your loss.
Korraβs sweet canine spirit is now free to explore all vast the wonders of the universe. ππ
I'm so sorry Adam. I remember when you added her to the family, was so surprised to see you with a pup after being such a dedicated cat dad. This is so hard. So many of us know that loss all too well.
It doesn't matter how long they're with us, it's never enough. For years I'd have piles of sorted laundry lined up in the hall like usual, and expect to find him lying on one.
Consider looking into a Foster Pet Program, until you're ready to meet your new family member. Just looking into it is both honoring your loss and a new avenue forward.π
I am so sorry. I lost my dog a year and a half ago & sometimes i still cry. The first few weeks, the silence & emptiness was unbearable. It sounds cliche, but she is always with you...im sure she changed you & taught you so much, you'll always carry a part of her with you. Take it 1 day at a time!
So sorry to hear that. I lost one of our three over a year ago, and I'm finally mostly over it (a replacement helped). Losing the only one would be even worse.
With so much sympathy for your loss. It does make a house feel empty, and you feel it every time your mind turns to look for them in their usual places. A privilege to have known them, a hollow feeling for sure in their loss. Rest in peace sweet friend. β€οΈ
Iβm very sorry. I lost my guy about a month ago and feel the same way β I keep expecting him to pop up wanting up on my lap or to hear his little footsteps. I hope your cats are helping to keep you company as you adjust.

Hang in there, sorry for your loss.
We got Stella 8 days later & she really helped to mend our broken hearts.
Many foster dogs need a good home. I hope you are able to help 1 of them win the doggo lottery of love β€οΈ

The older I get the more I respect what animals bring to our lives. More often than not they bring more joy that people in our lives do.

So very sorry for your loss.
You gave Korra 5 years!
What a great human family she had.
We lost our dog of ten years last summer. Itβs never enough time, and that grief persists β but thankfully, the memories are so warm. β€οΈ
