When Turning Stone casino opened outside of Syracuse, the entrance wasn’t done and you walked through plywood to go in. Felt speakeasy amazing as an 18 year old to lose money there.
Imagine the corporate demands that lead to that. "You're opening this date", "but the build isn't complete!", "did I ask if the place was complete? You've got deep friers, grills, and a broken ice cream machine. Open, or else!"
No, not this exact aesthetic. I think that virtually all remodels for McDonald's restaurants should have been partial remodels, making them hybrids between their original designs and the then-current prototype. The chain has gone too far with its hard resets of recent years.
Honestly I'd be disappointed to go in there and it's just a McDonalds. That should be a diner where the cook is also the server and they have the best donuts in the city
Hahaha
Now I wish I’d taken a pic of the promo banner at our local McDonald’s to add to this where they are boasting four meals for $24 to feed a family of four.
