They cannot wrap their heads around the fact that:
* Parading Liz Cheney around was a colossally dumb idea
* Continuing to blame the left will make them continue to lose elections
I will now predict they'll come out of the woodwork and say I didn't vote for Kamala when I very much did
Oh, they definitely will. And if you did vote for her, your negativity still scared the poor undecideds. Somehow it's your fault and not at all because they decided they'd rather court republican maybes than any leftists.
In my experience, they usually call me a liar and screenshot all the times I say she/Newsom are awful as "evidence" that I'm lying about my vote for her. Then they call me a Trump supporter because I don't like fake "centrists"
Also, protip. Whenever one of them replies to you, go to https://clearsky.app and search their username.
Find any blocklists they're on (and if they're irritating enough, they're on at least 1 list), double-check that the blocklist looks sane, and then remove them from your feed entirely.

I'm able to get better coverage using blocklists. Rather than seeking them out individually I can find lists that get big swathes of them (and identify if the current lists I have are missing some)
Block lists make you a block bot for the list owner and are subject to mission creep. I prefer to block on a case-by-case basis. Further, occasionally some of these people cross a line & need reporting. If lots of people who'd report have autoblocked them they won't get reported. 🤷
I am so okay with imperfect compared to total nuclear meltdown. I am super left and liked Obama, loved Bernie, voted for Hilary and Biden in the elections. Wish we had no primaries and just cut to chase in California.
"Damn I wish the left could figure out how to win. Nope, guess I'll just criticize them for not tempering their standards as I slide reliably further and further right."
That’s your attitude, and you can’t win. You can’t help anyone. You’re totally ineffective. Don’t blow that off as some kind of purity test. Get your hands flirty. Get engaged. Do something other than play the hater.
I think you completely misunderstand the post and my comment. Drones are the unmanned aircraft that were used to carry out attacks on individuals, ordered by the Obama administration. No one commenting on this post, as far as I’ve seen, is calling any individuals or voters in general drones.
Let’s say there was no concerted effort by most of the party apparatus to swing the primary one way. The primary system is still a bad system. It continually chooses awful candidates for a national stage with a bias towards established names with old ideas. It’s a branding problem if nothing else.
I mean, if my argument was 'you have to win', I'd likely use a candidate that actually won as an example, instead of one who's famous for Not Being President despite making 'I will be president' a major part of her marketing.
More accurately: Voters who vote in primaries voted for her. As well...it didn't work out that way post the primary.
I'm not saying that democrats didn't vote for her in the primary. I'm saying that the democratic process can fuck up and deliver candidates that won't succeed in the General Election
And a lot of it comes from Republican Talk Show Hosts (Who were themselves sexist). Rush Limbaugh has a lot to answer for but the unfortunate thing is 'It doesn't matter how fair or unfair a criticism is, when it comes to how it affects electability'
It's sorta why I put a very low stock in 'Most Qualified Candidate' talk. The greatest qualification a candidate can have is 'Able to get elected', as that's the gate that everyone needs to pass through.
Al Gore was a very qualified candidate. Never made President.
That one called me dumb in a reply and then blocked me before I could block them lol, what was the point. It was by virtue of refresh error that their reply to you was still visible to me lol
Remember when she justified slave labor because it was cheap? "When we moved in, I was told that using prison labor at the governor's mansion was a longstanding tradition, which kept down costs." Good times, good times
I have learned a lot about Dems this past year or two, so I'm late to the party. I don't even call myself liberal anymore thanks to what I've now learned about these people. I still think we wouldn't be in quite the same mess today, had she won in 2016, tho'.
I think people remember her fondly because she would have been marginally better than trump. The entire liberal platform is just "we're not as openly evil as the republicans. you should vote for us so we can sit on our hands for 4 years"
Something I'm immensely happy about is a good friend of mine with an analytic brain finally snapped out of it this election & went from excoriating the left for bad strategy for utilizing "abolish the police" about a year ago to swallowing the communist manifesto/Jacobin since just November.

Sorry my communication brain just saw how off-topic this response would seem, so to explain the ADHD jump there, I saw your comment, internally went "ugh, been there," but then remembered my friend who I argued with about the same types of stuff, & wanted to share a small point of leftist joy 💜

She was for full on decades the punching bag as an 'out of touch, barely human politician' by things as mainstream as SNL.
That's a level of baggage that's hard to overcome for any campaign.
The voters bucked Hillary in ‘08 for Obama. Voters of color were big backers of Hilary in 16 and Biden. Are they drones.
The Left needs to learn how to win. I wish they would.
She was a bad candidate that ran a shitty campaign.

But only some! Many criticisms were very much about Clinton herself and her politics.

Although I imagine Clinton would not have governed the way I’d like either. Better than Trump ig but the bar is higher than that to me.
I don't think DC people understand the media environment between... Pittsburgh & Sacramento.
remember when she lost to a one-term senator
