Oh I'm sorry, are you crying? Are you crying because your plagiarism machine that made stuff by copying everybody's stuff was used to train another machine that made stuff by copying stuff? Are you going to cry? Cowards, losers, pathetic

Cons: China gets your data.
Pros: Musk, Z, Bezos etc don’t get your data.
Pros: can use on local device, don’t need monster AI centres with nuclear power plants to run.
Me? I’m anti AI. But I LOVE DeepSeek’s disruption.
running the quantized "1.58" big model on an AMD server setup i bought off chinese ebay with a pile of amazon ram and i've got a reasonable golem of a Brain humming next to me. say 1300 including SSDs, case and all. I just bought it to torrent shit but i get tomato soup recipes out of it too now lol
Uhm. They created the biggest thing in terms of work efficiency since the fucking Industrial Revolution. The value it creates for smart businesses is without comparison.
Which is why for the most part they pushed pretty hard that this was not a possibility; and they would certainly protect from it. I have some understanding of computers, but not these “lofty heights” but I was quite sure they were wrong.
They very well might be lying here. But then we are left again with how China leapfrogged them out of nowhere, with far less computer resources and probably money.
I can’t prove anything but them building a weird pyramid scheme on top makes too much sense
They were needing more and more resources accounting for the beyond incredible amount of power despite the most efficient and fastest chips in existence and a lot of them. Like pyramid scheme this exploded the needs, but also how much damage revealing the truth would do
Instead of SkyNet launching nukes because humanity can't be trusted, it and its cousins sabotage each other's server farms because they can't be trusted
I dunno... that approach worked like a charm for Disney, making derivative works of public domain classic folk tales, and then claiming IP rights over any adaptation of the public domain source material -- and WINNING more often than not.
Sorry, your alt caption gets it backwards. Louis, the corrupt French cop played by Claude Rains, is telling Rick, played by Humphrey Bogart, that he’s shutting Rick’s cafe down because he’s ’shocked to find gambling take place there.’ Actually the real reason is the Germans ordered the shutdown.
Not a gendarme! The guy who gave Louis (Claude Rains) the money was a waiter in Rick’s (Humphrey Bogart’s) cafe who doubled as a croupier in the casino in the back room. The roulette wheel was rigged, and Louis was allowed to ‘gamble’ and win amounts that were bribes for letting the casino operate.

Yes please - $500M for that parrot
Are they stupid?
I thought that was capitalism.
They bought into their own bullshit; or didn’t want to risk it leaking they trained AI on AI
They could have done it to themselves but didn’t; but China did. That’s how they made the huge leap.
3) they are lying *here*
4) "THEIR* models couldn't use ai input, so they assumed that was universally true
