So so agree re the interview - tough read but amazing. I know PSA tests can cause false negatives but Chris should have been seen as high risk given family history and tested regularly from arguably in his 20s
So impressive and so shocking. Sarra was a Twitter friend long ago when we were having our babies at similar times and their mutual strength is genuinely humbling.
Just devastating for him and his family. An amazing sportsman who comes across as a genuinely lovely person. Will always remember him at the 2012 Olympics carrying the flag into the opening ceremony to David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’. Hoy is definitely a hero, and for more than one day.
Terrible news, Sir Chris is legend on and off the track. My thoughts are with his family and friends and everyone impacted by this horrible and indiscriminate disease.
What a horrible end to the day. So sad. Just been watching The Real McCoy on TV this evening. As good a pundit as he was a cyclist and a lovely man with the rare ability to laugh at himself. Thoughts with him, his family and friends.

An utterly cruel disease.

And secondly, the man's dying. What the hell kind of human are you when you think this is an appropriate response in the context? Get in the bin.

"Oh, poor Chris Hoy! Oh no! His poor wife, Oh, how awful for those young boys!"
And I felt such empathy for them.
And I woke this morning and thought, if only every family in Gaza had this kind of coverage, the world would demand their slaughter be stopped.
Thank you for sharing, Sam.
Incredibly driven as an athlete but has always come across as a really decent person.
