Oh, pretty! Yes, I sometimes have to pause and ask myself if I really want the beer or a T-shirt with the label art on it. (I need all my favorite beer-label illustrators to start selling T-shirts!)
The beer was pretty good! But not as good as the brewery's other fish-based offering IMO
So this beer is brewed with polluted water that is killing the fish that is causing them to mutate and grow hair? Do these cans come with microplastic content ppm on the nutritional label? I’m all for art on cans but I wouldn’t but food with a mutated fish on it. Makes me think of pollution.
My theory is that if they care enough about their beer to employ artists and come up with clever names, then the beer must be good, too. I have yet to be proven wrong.
You probably could or suggest it to them and give them a money making product other than beer. Or you could have a picture down LOADED and get it printed at a t-shirt shop. Make your own style.
That's fun, but until I saw it my kneejerk reaction to "fur-bearing trout" was that it must be heavily parasitized by a fungus, which sounds less than appetizing.
It sounds like a misogynist term for the vulva, then you remember that no, it's based on a gaffed animal sold to tourists as being one of those fearsome critters.
There is an incredible brewery in Canada that is run by a collective of artists - they do new art on all their beers every few months so it's a steady stream of gorgeous work
It matters in the sense that there is absolutely no definitive relationship between packaging design and product quality but a quality design will make you believe otherwise until you try the product
I once had a dream about creatures like these but in reverse — bodies of salmon, heads of badgers, and they would come try to bite your feet (they were in a pond on the grounds of the National Cathedral)
My wife will buy me surprise beers based on the names and labels. She very rarely misses with this approach! I picked out a bottle of wine the other day based on the label…and it was good! If they’re apt to pay artists for quality label art, the same care likely goes into the beer or wine.
Great can! I have purchased many beverages just for the can or bottle's design. A lot of them are unopened. I still have some orbitz (very old) water in bottles that has flavor beads floating in them bc they were so cool at the time.
Reminds me of my favorite beer can story. I was grabbing a 4-pack at my local grocery—an IPA by Henhouse Brewing of Petaluma called “Denver Airport” caught my eye. I texted a pic to my daughter in Denver. She: “How’d you know I was at the airport?” Me: “What?!!!” She: “I’m waiting for my flight!”

He drinks some pretty terrible beers because “I haven’t had it before”.
