Also thank you to @jamesgunn.bsky.social for cutting (or at least, approving) a movie trailer that doesn't give away huge chunks of the plot while still getting you excited for the movie, it is indeed a teaser of a trailer:

And I bawled. The music! I guess Reeve's will always be *my* Superman, even though I enjoyed the new movies.
Also the movie looks FANTASTIC, the color grading is so satisfying, the direction looks amazing and i'm sure the entire movie will be great.
On the other hand, can we stop with teasers that tease teasers? Two days ago there was a 30 second "pre-teaser teaser" out.
Yes yes, DC, I'm going to watch your advertisement. There's no need to build hype about the thing that is meant to build hype.
Lex Luthor uses Kryptonite to go after Superman. Superman, at his weakest point, while he is bleeding and weak, is saved by a super dog and ends up saving the day. I think I just revealed the entire movie. Oh yeah, and Lois Lane is a hard as nails reporter in love with Superman.
And so much more. Gunn, I now believe, genuinely understands what’s Supes is about.
I can’t wait.
But Krypto? Hawkgirl? Guy-fricking-Gardner? Wow...
My backup casting for Jordan as GL would be Fillion, which makes Gardner in this interesting.
The best part (besides Krypto) of the trailer is - how did Superman get so beat up?
The tease is there. The entire storyline in not (besides the parts of the canon we already know.)
(DIE HARD fits this. Begins w/McClane & Holly in mid-breakup, ends with their reunion. We don't need to see what led to the breakup, or see a recovering McClane with Holly on a happy New Year's Eve.)
Also, if you have to give a lot away in 2:30, it's because that's all there was.
Obviously.
But it still looks too dark and gritty for a Superman movie, to me. Superman works best as a PG-rated, "yes I really am this good and noble and the bad guys really are that bad" character, IMO.
This suggests they won't be absolute cowards and will include Robin on their inevitable Batman movie.
Like “Snowy” the superdog comes to the rescue!
...
Holy shit, Krypto is in the movie!
Is it good?
You can take the boy out of the D-list, but you can't...
(I keed. I love the Fab Freak of 1000 and 1 changes!)
I hope I'm not wrong. Again.
Also, Krypto.
And I love that they didn't even bother with making Lois oblivious to Clark and Superman being the same person. She *is* supposed to be quite intelligent, so that wouldn't stick.
:)
The music was very good, very uplifting. Happy to see Krypto, too! :)
