Post has been up 6 hours and only had to block one reply for misogyny/bodyshaming. This was meant to be uplifting because that’s two badass athletes at the top of their game.
Anyone body shaming that dude can only do it if they do it while holding a cheerleader up with one hand. Seriously this rules. She does a handstand on his hand!
Dang, our boy got 11th at partner stunt nationals competing against Weber State, Navarro (from Cheer) and Texas Tech cheerleaders who are as close to professional cheerleaders as you can get, he’s a stud.
As the parent of a competitive cheerleader, can confirm. This level of ability determines the difference between astonishing tricks and serious injury.
It’s from the most recent college cheerleading championships, sorry, don’t have a link for you right now but I’m sure you can find it. Someone in the comments posted the results link.
i know i shoulda been focusing on the cheerleader, but my eyes were on the guy literally holding her up like his AND her life depended on it. The focus was on point too. Mad respect
I normally say "tree stump", but building muscle does require local fuel to make it happen and powerlifters get a very strong core in the process. There are certain sports (including shot put, swimming, and this) where looking cut is absolutely not a priority.
He obviously trained for performance over appearance. Olympic heavy-lifters look like that, and nobody better be body-shaming Hafthor (aka the longest-standing Mountain That Rides).
Yeah, definitely a powerlifter build, you need the heft for that kind of sport. My BIL is the chunkiest guy I know IRL and he can literally lift a full sized fridge without breaking a sweat.
Especially as they're BOTH balancing her with the various lifts. If you move too far one way as the flyer, the lifter has to compensate and vice versa.
That shit is hard.
It's hard to catch everything going on, but there is constant adjustment by both to keep her balanced just right. That must take so much practice and so much strength!
Yeah, this is why American football centers are built like bunkers. They might be holding back three or four big dudes at a time, so they need the same kind of core strength.
Well, yeah, look at that footwork and maintaining his base. This man was built to play center and then pull and the the fuck out of a linebacker or low safety.
"That doesn't look so hard," I say. I boost a 90 pound girl into the air, giving myself a hernia. Before the pain has a chance to kick in, she lands on my one up-stretched hand. The impact shatters my shoulder and my humerus plunges through the opening into my chest cavity, killing me instantly.
Both are terrific athletes. He has incredible strength & he makes tossing her & steadying her look simple & easy but it is very difficult. They are a great team with huge skills.
Weird to know that my role in school gymnastics lessons is an Actual Thing (I was never this strong or skilled but it was accepted that my place in gymnastics was at ground level chucking smaller, lighter classmates around).
The guys with all the rippling muscles visable through a t-shirt may be strong, but the real powerhouses are the big guys built like tanks. Look at any strong man competition, a lot of them got some meat around them and then are pulling semitrucks lol
I refuse to even think for a second that something this pure and awesome exists in the same universe where literally anything Steven Crowder says is remembered.
Espescially when he only used one hand.
He can handle weight fine, but if either he or she misses the point of balance by an inch, maaybe two, she's likely to fall.
A couple of times you can also see that her legs are so powerful that she could kill a person just by kicking the air in front of them. These two are incredible athletes (and apparently, they only came in 11th. Holy shit.)
And then there’s some stupendous ones in the last 2-4 seconds of the video (after their routine is complete, when you can just see the “NAILED IT!!! HELL YEAH!!!” feeling on their faces)
They feel the absolute correct amount of proud of themselves.
Yes yes yes about your point 2! Like, she is smiling throughout (in a way that feels kinda performative) but as soon as they finish and both break out into the most AMAZING smiles and that hug and these are two people who have got each other 100%

Dude could *literally* dunk the offender without trying

Even with all the power his smaller partner brings with that level of body control in a tiny package the dynamic load on him is *intense*.
Also MAGA dudes: "That guy gets to touch a real live girl."
Absolute unit, absolute hero.
That shit is hard.
But also got to acknowledge she looks amazing.
Springy like a stoat!
(With my nephew’s plastic car)
Apparently, *this* is peak performance.
(hers too, like damn girl)
I'm not used to seeing a similar body type as mine being referred to as "ideal." 😅
But I keep thinking he’s got a kind of Chris Farley look to him.
Also, her absolute trust in him that he's just going to be there, is amazing. Hats off to both of them.
Thick, functional muscles.
Impressive balance between him and the young woman he's holding up as well.
He can handle weight fine, but if either he or she misses the point of balance by an inch, maaybe two, she's likely to fall.
...no, not literally. We had a talk about this already"
They feel the absolute correct amount of proud of themselves.
2. The sheer joy on their faces is awesome.
