I only listen to cDs and cassette tapes at home. I have some vinyl but I have failed to get my turntable hooked into my complicated stereo system. I also still have vhs, dvds and laserdiscs. I tried streaming services and satellite but hate their algorithms and repetitive selections.
My brain has eve6, GetSetGo, NineInchNails, and Scissor Sisters occupying the same space in my brain because of the things happening during the early 2000s for me
CDs and DVDs are also **really** cheap in charity shops (if you're in the UK).
Cos they have loads from people getting rid of them.
(I'm increasing what I have, but I still have cassettes.)
I was just talking to a friend about having hard copies of media and how the cloud has really confused the new generations. What if that service just ends (Sony Play station games) you loose all of it. All my music and movies are at least in my hand.
Suggestions please! And not of the auto-tune type. Real musicians with talent! Always looking for the real thing to give a listen too. Hard to find-or I’m not listening in the right places.
Gotta find my CD collection. Could use a long drive with some death metal blaring out of the speakers. Plus, I love the looks I get when I pull up next to a car & the people give me the death look because of the music. Always get a double take ‘cause they don’t expect driver to be grandma
Can you guys help me solve the mystery that is why I can’t get the full song Anytime on Spotify?? Honestly it’s been impossible to find for a while and I need it for my snowboarding playlist obvi
I remember this era and genuinely thinking, “we could never fall lower as a society than now” and I didn’t realize I had issued some formal challenge to the universe.
Great for the half dozen of us who still own CDs 🤣
Most of the people I know (including the over-50 crowd like me) view a CD player as an archaic novelty item, like a owning a clothes wringer.
My SiriusXM go-to’s are Spectrum, Alt Nation, and the Vinyl channel. At least Spectrum and Alt Nation will also play newer alt artists too so that more people can know of them and support them. I hope CDs make a comeback, because you can’t play a record in a car.
I absolutely loved that album. I've ben thinking about it alot lately. I saw it coming then, like Trent and others. And here we are watching it unfold.

Tape for tax bc the first albums in the car and it’s 12 degrees outside so I’m not getting it.

Don’t be jealous.
oh, how we forget.
I have 100s,..and zero CD players.
Holy crap. I never thought I'd find a use for that word.
Overtime you might find some interesting listening and kindred souls to help us through and stoke that fire in your belly.
