Today’s historic pic: Exactly 40 years ago today, candy-liveried Alco diesel 4827 on an up Canberra goods train in dull light approaches Bungendore, NSW, May 25 1985. Although passenger trains still run here today, goods no longer goes by rail to Canberra. 4827 is still in service today with R.I.C.
