"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
I guess we should deport the Statue of Liberty for spewing such anti-American filth. /s

You're the one who sane-washed him for clicks. You're directly responsible for all of this.
Trump called you an illegal propaganda organization today, so I guess your tone of appeasement didn't work, lol.
He's right, just not for the reasons he thinks.
Hope you quislings all get fucked 😘

Also called @cnn.com and @msnbc.com illegal propaganda organizations. Which is exactly what they deserve for sane-washing him for years.
He's right, just for the wrong reasons. May they face the full extent of whatever he has planned. Both organizations are a bunch of quislings and can get fucked.

Like for a second or two you could almost forget he was a monster and he was just a dude desperately begging for his life. His acting for that scene in particular was fucking phenomenal (not that it was bad in other scenes), the fear and desperation seemed so genuine.

Everything about it was right up my alley, I love dark comedy and I love history. I feel cheated that somehow the marketing didn't reach me while it was in theatres.
Although it definitely escalates quickly at the end. Simon Beale is amazing and made me feel a bit bad for Beria for like 3 secs.

I only found it a few years after release. No idea how I missed it's release, it's a phenomenal film.

Also had a random question Mr. Byk. I have an old photo of Twenty Grand in what appears to be his final victory (an allowance win). Would a museum or something be interested in a copy?
Note: The decoration is attached to the inside of the frame, not the photo!

Would like a museum or something want a copy? I've scoured the internet and there I can't find the photo anywhere online.
The decoration is glued to the inside of the picture frame; the picture itself doesn't have anything on it except the writing... which it was given to my mom that way.

Not up :( I can listen on your website (all episodes appear there fine). But the iTunes feed just shows this:
It's an iTunes problem.

Something is going on with the iTunes feed. Only Part 2 from Thursday and Part 1 from Monday are up. And nothing from Friday.
Why does iTunes have to be the way it is?

I would definitely say with current bird flu it's not even a debate, don't encourage the birbs of different species to gather in large numbers. Hence why my ecology center has temporarily stopped selling seed. When there isn't an outbreak though it's been encouraged by every center I've been at.

Birds seem to be the one exception as "wild animals you're allowed to feed". Feeding deer and other wildlife is illegal in my area. But as I said the environmental center usually encourages people to put up birdfeeders and to feed the ducks/geese healthy options like cabbage (which they go nuts for)
comment in response to

I am in no way suggesting that they are tame or domesticated. 100% they are wild animals. But every environmental center I've gone to literally sells birdseed (temporarily stopped due to bird flu, usually they sell it) and say it perfectly fine to feed wild geese as long as it's healthy (not bread).
comment in response to
post
I feel like birds are the exception. (Outside of bird flu times) we're encouraged to put feeders in our yards and taking the kids to feed the ducks/geese is definitely a thing (local environmental center doesn't discourage feeding, they do recommend cabbage instead of bread though.

Is Rookie Card jumping a shadow in the photo? Cause that's not how horses run outside of old-timey paintings.

I'm not a Catholic, but as far as pope's go he seems to have been pretty decent. Seems to actually follow Christ's teachings when it comes to charity, tolerance, etc.
Wishing the best for him.

That's why the death rate of this particular listeria outbreak is so high. The majority of the people taking who were exposed were already extremely unwell.
I'm sure some healthy people take these drinks for weird diet reasons, but that's not their primary purpose or demographic.

My dude, these shakes are like the type of stuff my cancer-patient mom is taking. The cancer has invaded her esophagus to the point that she can't swallow solid food, only liquids. So, in addition to a feeding tube she drinks these nutritionally complete shakes as meals.

It's not like it's even a complex question or like I'm asking it something impossible (it's not like there aren't hundreds of small fish species in the Congo River).
It's completely useless, it fails at even the most straightforward and simple tasks.
comment in response to

I try and use it for silly shit like designing a biotope fish tank (all flora and fauna from same, single region). If I ask it for "3 small fish from the Congo River" half the time it'll give me a 2ft fish from the Congo, a fish from somewhere else in Africa, and a 3rd from South America or Asia.

I'm not saying they deserve automatic release or anything. But I think that, given that there is outside corroboration of their claims from other victims, they at least deserve to have their case reheard.
A jury can then make their decision based on all the evidence.

Other, now grown men, have since come forward and have claimed to be victims of the father. People who have no relation or friendship with the brothers, who'd have no reason to lie about being sexually assaulted by a long-dead man.

My friend group had a fog machine, strobe lights, and black lights. We'd have it set up so all you could see were strobing silhouettes through the fog. Nobody knows who they're dancing with, people constantly bumping into each other. The blacklights were for the beer pong room. Shit was crazy fun.

That's fucking depressing. Some of my best lack-of-memories were at the house parties of kids with absentee parents and well stocked liquor cabinets.
What a horrible time to be a kid. First your getting shot at and now your parents are so poor you can't even get wasted. This country is fucked.

It's not like there aren't a plethora of talented and proven sires who stayed sound over long careers to choose from. And yet everyone seems to flock to the shiny new undefeated freshman sire who retired after 3 starts due to having horrifically bad feet or w.e. other issue.

It will never cease to amaze me that people keep breeding animals that had their careers cut short due to issues (with conformation or otherwise) that are hereditary. Especially when they have the audacity to act surprised when the progeny of these animals experience issues themselves.

This is just as concerning to me as the number of sires who had/have soundness issues.

Lead them out one at a time. Have the screens show their races, maybe a few pre-recorded interviews of the connections reflecting on their career. Each horse is paraded for like 5-10 minutes on average (depending on their tolerance for it).

Personally, I'd really love a Champions Day. It'd be so cool if once a year the industry brought the retired champions out to be led around the paddock and past the grandstands a few times. Imagine getting to see American Pharoah, Justify, Curlin, Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, Songbird, etc.

And by "lucky break" I am in no way intending to diminish the hard work required. Just that there's plenty of people who work hard, get a decent job, live frugally, and invest wisely... and then get hit by a car and are now permanently disabled and drowning in medical debt. Luck is still required.
comment in response to

Yeah, big difference between a millionaire and a billionaire. It's 100% possible to become a millionaire without exploiting anyone. Work hard, get a decent job, live frugally, and invest wisely. It still takes some lucky breaks, but it's entirely doable without exploitation.
comment in response to

Not just trust funds. You simply can't accrue that much wealth without exploiting countless people. They aren't self-made, they're selfish. It was the labor of the countless people that they exploited that 'made' them.

Not to mention the weight off your shoulders of not having to worry about someone not closing a gate or door fast enough.
Never been more stressed having to practically sneak out of someone's house because their untrained dog would make a mad dash for freedom every time it heard the door open. 😬

Oof. Poor Fair Grounds.
Bet the horses are feeling fresh with the cold weather and missed training. One of the few parts of working with horses that I don't miss, the cold-weather freshness and having to de-ice frozen water buckets (heated water buckets are a godsend).

What a lovely way to start your morning.
A well trained dog that you can trust not to run off on you is a wonderful thing. There's a bit of work that goes into it, but it's worth it for the opportunities to let them just run around and be a dog.

Do a deep dive, talk about the pedigree, racing career, breeding career, funny quirks and other stories that just never make it to the papers.
Same could be done for famous names in the industry (obviously not their pedigree and breeding career, lol, but you get the idea).

If you're looking for an assignment to give to a mentee give them a "historical racing" segment.
Have them do research on some famous horse like Personal Ensign and find some people (trainer, jockey, owner, breeder, groom, exercise rider, reporter-of-the-time, whoever) that wanna talk about her.

For naming conventions my favorite style are the ones like "Pleasant Colony" siring "Roanoke" (the lost colony of Roanoke probably didn't have a pleasant end, lol).
They're both traditional-type names that sound professional, but it cleverly draws on history and got a wry chuckle out of me.

I think they should be raised until they yield the maximum meat yield per resources input (when beef is normally slaughtered). If their meat would be too stringy for human consumption (not bred for beef, tougher with age) then make them into animal food (dog, cat, zoo animal).
Minimize waste.
comment in response to

When it comes to veal I personally am not a fan. I think if an animal is going to be slaughtered for meat it should be slaughtered at the most efficient time (most usable meat/least resources required). I see veal as wasteful, and we shouldn't be being wasteful when it comes to slaughtering animals.
