It’s Sesko for me, I don’t think Gyokeres is the right fit for us. Don’t think he’ll dominate in the PL like he does physically in Portugal

Hugely disappointing news that Arsenal are interested in resigning him

I mean, this isn’t even close to what actually happened. It was a thrown in and not a free kick, and he kicked it long before the Newcastle player made it to touchline with a second ball
comment in response to
post
I hate it as well, but that didn’t strike me as time wasting. No one was sprinting back into position or anything, unlike when Burn grabbed the ball
comment in response to

Not sure how you come to that conclusion, there was zero disruption to play. The ball went to Arteta and he booted it straight back to where it went out. Stopping the game to book Arteta caused a delay

He controlled it with his arm and volleyed it in, it’s clearly not his shoulder. Mane should have got a red in that game for intentionally elbowing Tierney in the face as well
comment in response to
post
It was unrelated and that is clearly hitting Jota in the red portion there, it’s bicep near the elbow not shoulder

And what, thought we were posting unrelated handballs

Increasingly happy with my decision to skip the last few games

Right but we’re left with almost no one on the bench who can affect the game. Setford/NBO/Henry-Francis/Sterling on the bench in a CL semifinal just taking up space. Desperate for goals but all we can really bring on is full backs and Trossard. Not really good enough, I think we let the squad down
comment in response to

Not really, I’m just saying I don’t buy that we’re just unlucky or just lost because of Donnarumma. We did well with what we have but lack quality/depth in attack and have for a bit. Combined with some weak defending in moments and we’re out
comment in response to
post
They were also leading the whole tie outside of 3 minutes, so had less need to attack then we did but did create good opportunities where they didn’t get a shot away. Hit the bar, missed a pen, could easily have been worse than better as far as scoreline
comment in response to

Arteta did acknowledge that we needed more in attack after Munich, but we went into this season with less, even without the injuries. I can’t understand how it’s controversial to think we’re light up front and the club should have done more
comment in response to
post
Donnarumma didn’t score 3 goals or create a bunch of other good chances. They were good everywhere, and we are still lacking enough quality/creativity up front

I mean there are clear rule differences to previous years like CL teams not dropping down to EL when being knocked out
comment in response to

It was an issue with Havertz as well, he’s great but not the player to take the brunt of your scoring load. We don’t have a player in double figures for goals for the year. We knew after Munich we needed more and went into this year with less. Agreed on Donnarumma though he’s been great
comment in response to

We’ve been good, but haven’t scored a goal in either leg and it’s been an issue with this team all season. Just not enough goals in this team

Blanked again… at home. Way too eager to go backwards and just take what they give us

Depressing news

One of the bright sides to the recent issues with the US was that it seemed to be a bit unifying for Canadians. Now all of these Conservative ads before the election are like ‘no no remember we hate each other! Don’t forget the culture war!’

Forever baffled by VAR. MLS not overturned for this pen or his red card vs Wolves, but Salibas yellow was one they had to get involved in to turn it into a red

Honestly, I’m struggling to find motivation to watch the rest of our PL games. Nothing to play for, just end up frustrated by bananas decisions that decide the results. Not worth the frustration at this point
comment in response to

It’s a shame there were no players in the entire world available in January that could possible have improved on the zero goals we’re able to score
comment in response to

I’ve muted them Talksport, Neville etc and it’s been great. I only heard the MLS celebration stuff from Arsenal fans complaining about the coverage. I also generally mute the commentators, would love a crowd noise only option but Fubo doesn’t have one
comment in response to

No def not, we didn’t even look worse after the red. We played too passive until they scored and still lack players willing to make driving runs into the box and commit players
comment in response to

It means we might have a better option then putting CMs at striker and LBs at left 8

Not sure how the ref bought all those soft fouls against Arsenal but let Kudus bulldoze MLS from behind

Not win the league happens, but being completely shite at home to West Ham is different.

Like that one on Sterling
comment in response to

What MLS did is definitely red worthy, but that’s 100% a foul if we win the ball in that manner
comment in response to

He got bulldozed in the back, you’re telling me that’s not a foul after what they called on Trossard or Merino
comment in response to

He was fouled by Kudus first

It’s a foul on Kudus

Jesus injury shouldn’t come as a surprise, he’s been always had issues staying fit. Kai plays whenever he’s fit, he missed a few games through illness otherwise he’d be even higher
comment in response to

But then you need to replace them, or at least a couple of them. It’s not like our left wing doesn’t need competition when Martinelli is fit and you still need a squad. Moving out four players and bringing in 1 was always a risk and we knew we needing something in attack before that anyway
comment in response to
post
Bars not that high if we only have one striker who has 4 goals in 24 apps and Sterling starting games that matter
comment in response to
post
Right but we kept them around in case we needed them, luckily we didn’t and were pretty fortunate injury-wise. But we threw away the whole safety net without adding anything of substance and then didn’t address it when it was an obvious issue
comment in response to
post
They could contribute, maybe surprise us. Need to take a chance on a forward at some point and Martinelli/Trossard haven’t exactly lit it up this year either for goal scoring. Negligent imo to not address an obvious need especially after letting Nketiah/Nelson/ESR/Viera all go
comment in response to
post
Or maybe we should have just taken the hints and signed a player or two when we had the opportunity. Seasons probably gone but if we lose CL we’re screwed long term
comment in response to
post
Or we’ll lose Nwaneri to injury again and one or both of their injuries will have setbacks. Not sure we can keep hoping for the best when it comes to injury luck this year
comment in response to
post
Bad luck, but we had already lost two of those and had a chance to do something and didn’t. We thought our luck would magically change and now we need Sterling/Trossard/Nwaneri to play full 90s for the foreseeable future. Negligence by the club
comment in response to

We will definitely be the first team to have a player get a 2nd yellow for a mocking/critical goal celebration
comment in response to

I do wonder what ppls reaction to the window would be if the City and Everton results were swapped around. Same players available plus Saka and we drew 0-0 at home
comment in response to

We’re probably not buying an attacking star, finished product attackers are likely too expensive for us. We’re not buying an Isak now, we need to find an Isak of 3.5yrs ago before he went to Newcastle. We didn’t think he was worth the value then but Newcastle did and now he’s worth double
comment in response to

Big teams have second strikers most of the time. They get a chance to compete for trophies, higher wages etc. It’s a thing
