It was an interesting listening experience. I listened to every minute (although time difference between Vegas and 🇩đŸ‡ș meant that eps came out at odd times here). It was intense but genuinely interesting - even for a non tech nerd. Everyone was working so hard, and shared interesting opinions.

Fair. I make maybe 8 cups of tea every day. And end up drinking maybe a third of each. 😂

If we travel again either they plan it or we take the ADHD express

Is there any other way to travel? It took me more than 6 months to plan a 10 day China trip in Jan last year. It almost killed me (the “planning” I mean, the trip was fine). Only did it that way b/c I was travelling with two of my boys.

Congratulations on remembering to eat the mandarin

True, I’d forgotten about the translate button.

I like these. And the NSW Dep of Ed has a deal with Microsoft, so teachers and students all have access to MS Office and the cloud based versions of the apps which means shareable Word docs. So as long as a student has the internet at home, they’re good. Now to encourage them not to use ChatGPT
.

I have a prac teacher with me at the moment and this has helped clarify much of my own thinking about the best way to provide meaningful input on how they’re doing. Co-creating feedback is such a great framework. Thanks for the post. 🙏

I love when Elisabeth discovers artists that I already know - Rage Against the Machine & Jamiroqiai we’re particular faves. And I also love discovering something new myself. I’d heard of Linda Ronstadt but had no idea of just how unbelievably good she is. Simply stunning.

Can’t wait to see my home insurance after another round of flooding up here. Went up 30% this year already and I’m not even in the danger zone

Worth a follow. Bravo.

I’d like to know who the “supply chain experts” were

Amazing. Never thought I would see an example like this. Respect.

As a teacher, I just want to say: Wow.

Wrong kind of cynicism. Aren’t they just grifts where the couple “buying” the home (which they may already own) are grifting with the real estate agent and getting publicity so they can flip the place for a profit?

Can relate. Congrats on making it out the other side.

I’ve argued too that the death of the author is invoked improperly with AI — asserting it to abolish author’s rights, but then suggest text is authoritative because of its “authorship” by AI
a false sense that there is an ‘author’ to AI text at all. mail.cyberneticforests.com/data-prior-t...

I’ve lived in Cowper since 2014. It has never once even crossed my mind to consider trying to contact our local member during an emergency. Have never seen him. Never expect to.

As a fluent Spanish speaker I’m regularly appalled by their commentators’ butchery of Spanish players’ names, but having free(!) access to Liga F and other leagues here Australia is awesome.

Joke away, but I reckon choctop’s legit! 😂 I like to deliberately type in as many choice options from the Aussie lexicon as I can think of just to silently fume at their refusal to acknowledge the wider English-speaker world. But I’m not entirely normal
 😂

And DAZN is doing a great service to the women’s game, gotta say.

Saw this come up in my YT feed and was “WTF?” Gonna have to give it a watch now. Thanks for the thread and sharing the article. 🙏

Normally I’d agree. But up here, I’m happy to be *not* hearing rain for the first time in 48 hours. The silence is lovely. Looks like we’ll both have a nice night’s sleep. 😊

Yeah. You’ve gotta out yourself in the head of a New York Times puzzler. For “choctop” you’d need to do the Sydney Morning Herald version (the name of which escapes me at the moment. I’d tag my dad but he doesn’t do social media).

We got two months worth of rain (other towns got twice that). Not sure if it qualifies as weird but it definitely ain’t normal. Am fortunate to be both safe and dry. Wishing you weirdness back, but of a different sort! 😊

Hope this isn’t inappropriate, but I find that long-haired look with the jumpsuit freaking awesome. Full disclosure: speaking as a long-haired, extremely fashioned-challenged, very cis dude.

Ha! Nice one. Will steal.

Cool stat. Hadn’t seen that one. They’ll have to do better than the last couple of times they played Barça Femenì, though

He also doesn’t realise that Dr Biden has a doctorate in *education*. She’s not an oncologist or any other kind of medical doctor. Jr is as cruel as is he asinine.

I am *not* a Luddite. I *like* tech. But the brazenness of these companies and the lengths they will go to to fill the ravenous maw of GenAI with our “data” (and faces, and books, and articles and creative work) is really radicalising me
