I gave up suggesting that to people ten years ago... Now, I'd just be happy if the 21 could run frequently for a few hours after dinner.

There are just generally not many good routes from sea level to "business level" in West Seattle. I would love to see a switchbacky path through the golf course and camp long.

I get it. I will always point this out, though, because so few companies provide meaningful ongoing service of their products, I like to give credit to the ones that do.

Chaco will put new straps and new soles on old sandals, for a fee. If your footbed is in good shape and shaped to your foot, it can be worth it. My wife sent a pair in for rebuild twice before they were fully shot.

I would love to see a lineup with this, a Mini Moke and a Thing. Could have CJ5 off to the side as a size reference.

Even with waterproof bags, using waterproof stuff sacks for internal organizing can be nice. Lightweight silicone coated fabric is enough - no need for full dry bags. But it's nice to be able to pull things out and set them aside when the ground is wet.

One of those lives in my neighborhood. Plate reads "FIGGY" if I'm remembering correctly.

Thanks for the response. I think you did a good job coming up with something that both can't be missed, but also is not overly distracting from the image.

Yeah. And formalizing it is different than offering it. I bet they still try to do the upsell at the end. Some people (me, probably) are going to be more receptive when it's time to actually fork over and make the purchase, versus when I'm starting shopping around.

Listened to this week's pod on this. On the buying in to a refundable ticket thing - Delta had been offering this in practice since everything stopped being automatically refundable at the end of the pandemic. Wasn't part of a named product, but they have been offering the upsell to me all the time.

I found this series recently, so sorry if you've already answered this. But I really like the watermark you use for these. Is it something you made yourself? Or a tool that's available somewhere? Does it populate the location data automatically or do you cut and paste?

The pressure to go for the biggest IPO or buy-out robs us interesting possibilities. Imagine if Tesla had forked towards being the premier vendor of battery and charger systems and then used profits from that to do occasional limited production concept/demonstrator vehicles.

Thanks. (This was just an idle curiosity question, BTW. It's not like I have a horse in the race WRT what you shoot with.)

What are you moving on to?

Just saw this. Know nothing else about it, but it's something to try, maybe. bsky.app/profile/chad...

I don't mind so much when a public service wants to steer you towards the payment methods that are cheaper for them. But I don't like when they charge fees for all payment methods. And I like less when it's a third party charging those fees.
comment in response to post
I still have a pile of paper checks for my business account so I've gone back to filing by mail to avoid the fees.
comment in response to post
Seattle used to have their own website for filing business licenses and taxes. It wasn't pretty, but it was always clear what you needed to file and there were no fees. Now they use a third party website that charges you to file/pay and is makes it easy to miss what's required. But it looks nicer...

If the e-shifting fails, you have a bummer of a ride. If e-braking fails, that could be the bummer of your life.

Wait. I take it back. I just clicked on a Flickr link on a phone that doesn't have the app installed and it was not enjoyable. For people who have the app, it's a pretty good experience. But you can't count on that.
comment in response to post
Thinking of the native photos here as thumbnails and including Flickr links could work. Not everyone will click through. Those that do, won't every time. But when they do, they will probably explore your Flickr a bit before returning. Of course, that's more work to do.

But executives can't demand huge compensation for simply watching over an existing thing people like to use as it chugs along, unchanged.

Also also, how does the provider of the "key man" insurance here feel about him driving while distracted by work?
comment in response to post
Also, why the hell is this guy driving himself on his commute. What's the point of having the pinnacle of money and power if not to put yourself above that fray?

Any chance those internal covers make it more inviting for rodents to nest in there?

I usually try to use my phones until a few weeks past when I regret not getting a new one, but I just proactively ordered a replacement for mine.

Please provide the panel with any available information regarding how long that car has been parked there. It is necessary to make a proper ruling.

Apparently that's been up for years now, too. But the likely interpretations have changed, I guess. At least the way I processed it at 70mph did. WA 'Uncle Sam billboard' property being sold www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

No. Something along the lines of we didn't fight in WWII to be doing this now. It was a bit vague, but it still shocked me given the source.

I think ownership changed hands. It was really disorienting to drive past a few weeks ago and see a message that I interpreted as critical of the current administration.

Well then clearly you should take Kenmore to Nanaimo where you can get Harbour Air to Tofino and then on to Hot Springs Cove on Tofino Air.

Kenmore to Victoria and back on the Clipper can be a fun round trip. If the weather plays along.

I'll ask to see the manager about that.

Careful coming down the pass. You don't want to end up in the downtown feed store.

It was combined, I believe. I filled up at a few of these in rural/remote Canada. I assumed the whole thing is prefabbed and dropped in place with a crane -instant self serve filling station.
