But they say a judge has not approved it yet? Sometimes judges don’t approve things. Like the opioid settlement.

Sam Altman will personally equip every raccoon in my neighborhood with an Ultimate AI Device™️ to harass my cats and record the contents of my trash

I don’t like the idea of super-smart raccoons. They’ve got too much juice already.

I don’t think this is either/or. Climate scientists will continue to talk about their work. The TED talk was intelligent and empathetic. But I would rather tell people how cheap and effective solar is than get into a back-and-forth about whether a particular thing constitutes climate change.

I’ll have to check that out. I was going to say that I feel like this is worse than any dystopian novel I have ever read. But it sounds like that one is pretty close.

I like friendly exchanges of ideas! Why does everyone have to get so hostile so quick on this app?

Oh I didn’t judge because sometimes you need to disregard to test out a bunch of other letters. The bot taught me that 😉

It’s a matter of choosing one’s fights carefully. Unlike me right now 😁

It is already here. We have the solutions and they are cost-effective. All I’m exploring is whether we should simply focus on that. Only a small percentage of people adopt a technology because they are adventurous and altruistic.

If there is carbon free technology or low carbon technology that is practical, reliable and cheap, people will adopt it without any need to convince them that climate change is real.

“Fear is not what is going to motivate us” She is making my point. Talk about practical solutions.

Yes, that’s my question. Is it helpful? Are people listening and turning the car around when we do this?
comment in response to
post
Haha… I get being frustrated by the lack of acknowledgment, but I think most people aren’t going to take the steps necessary to avoid climate disaster unless we can demonstrate that low carbon technologies are effective, safe, reliable and cheap.

The discourse on this app is unparalleled.

Why do you think it’s critical that it mentions climate change? Do you think it would be helpful and if so, how?

Nestlé is terrible, but also – a “major mineral water scandal” could only happen in France and I love this for them

So, what this country needs is more real estate developers 😬

I think the bigger issue is overseeing the details, financing, construction process. I would vastly prefer somebody to do that for me, but here I am living in 120 year-old house and slowly replacing everything so joke is on me.

(actually did look into building a modular home at one point and it seemed wildly expensive and time-consuming.)

That’s funny. What is the punchline there? It just isn’t really much of a time/cost saving because you still need skilled labor and utility hook ups, etc.?

I don’t know. I feel like Klein has been everywhere and this book has gotten so much publicity. I live in Michigan’s UP and I know about California’s policies. There was sort of an anti-abundance bandwagon that might not be entirely rational. It is a paradigm shift for parts of the left.

Biased but IMO Klein owned that exchange

I forget the name of the author, but in Tolkien’s biography it is reported he showed up to the inklings club and said he was working on a modern Beowulf. Tolkien’s withering response was, yes, everyone’s done that.

That’s kind of her point. It’s work and it doesn’t come naturally, but the payoff is real.

I think that part of Pride and Prejudice where Elizabeth compares it to practicing the pianoforte is so smart.

But I worked for Sen. Peters I got to meet the people at the Marquette office and they are so smart. And they’ve done such an amazing job keeping us safe. My heart hurts that this awesome public service is being dismantled.

I keep saying this. If we don’t have the 14th amendment, then we don’t have a policy on citizenship. We never bothered to make another one. Ironically, naturalization would seem to be more solid because it’s at least enshrined in law.

We follow everything all the time and it seems like a universe ago, but Biden was particularly toxic because it was a simple, universal narrative. Everyone has watched the elders in our lives age. The powerful simplicity ensures it’s gonna linger in the minds of ordinary Americans for a long time.

Biden and the people who made excuses for him stole an election from the American people. I’m furious about it, many mistrust Dems as a result, and Dems reckon with it. Trump is terrible and Dem approval ratings are still in the toilet. This is part of the reason.
