Friends and friends of friends, feel free to follow me.
For folk I don't know (or with really obscure profile names), drop me a line explaining who you are, and/or why you'd like to follow me.
Who knows, I might follow you back.

I don't really count Prime as streaming, even though I use it. I signed up to Prime for free deliveries and Prime deals, so I would be paying for it anyway. Prime Video (with ads) is a bonus.

Disney has lots to entertain me. I was quite surprised at the mixture, it is not just Star Wars, Princesses and Marvel.
My Disney deal ends in December, after which I may restart Netflix or else see if anything I watched on Apple has a new season.

Generally Prime + one other (currently Disney).
However, I am currently also on Netflix. I signed back up this month, to watch one specific thing. Of course, there's lots more to watch there, but I'm hoping to keep to the plan and cancel before the month ends.

Reminds me of John Kerry's joke about Dan Quayle's Secret Service detail.

For instance think of the time when Greece was in recession, but much of the rest of the eurozone, Germany especially, was financially healthy. Who should the economy be adjusted for to benefit?
comment in response to

Not only was that considered undesirable, as it is no longer under our control, an argument can be made that making such adjustments for the whole of Europe is quite clumsy.

I agree that it was tied up with jingoism. But there were economic points too.
The Bank of England does a lot to regulate the British Economy. Its main tool in this is changing the base interest rate. Switching from our own currency to the Euro would move such control to the European equivalent.

There is also the factor that we had many concessions made for us, bits of the EU regs that we had an opt-out on. If we were ever able to rejoin it is extremely unlikely that we would retain these.
For example, it is almost certain that to rejoin, we would have to adopt the Euro currency.

From my own experience, anyone can play drums.
It's just that most people play them extremely badly.

I think it may be two sides just misunderstanding. Here in the UK, folk I know were perhaps concerned about Panama, but Canada? Noooo!
We felt there was no way that Trump would try something like that, despite his bluster.
Bottom line: we simply didn't take it seriously.

You did bugger all when we were invaded by the Vikings. And when the Norman Conquest happened, where were you then?

You missed that Ukraine wasn't an independent state until 1991. Before perestroika, it was part of the Soviet Union, which suffered the greatest number of casualties in WWII.

This is a fairly regular event, too. Looks like trolls and bots are discovering Bluesky. I knew it was too good to last.

It is also possible, under settings/accessibility, to enforce this so it greys out the Post button until you alt text. Great for folk like me with a tendency to forget.

I quite like them, although for a filled biscuit, I tend towards a bourbon.
Top biccie for me are still digestives or hobnobs.

For anyone unfamiliar with the classic Custard Cream biscuit that these confections are both based on.

RSS feed readers are very much still around. Check out Feedly, which works both as a website, but also an app. It present the feeds either as categories or "all feeds", and looks just like another social media app.

To use their own words: "for better or for worse ... has done the most to influence the events of the year".
Other "Man/Person of the Year" have been Adolf Hitler (1938); Joseph Stalin (1939 and 1942); Nikita Khrushchev (1957); and Ayatollah Khomeini (1979).
It is not an endorsement.

It's decades since it was trendy to listen to Tomita, but I've always liked his Snowflakes Are Dancing album, which is all based on Debussy.

I am trying to be generous, and will entertain any genuine contact. But when someone tells me that my words moved them, and they'd like to get to know me better, I know they are trying to blow smoke up somewhere...

But some, I am convinced, are folk simply pulling a fast one. Be they bots, or folk expecting me to follow back, thus expanding their profile, or trying to initiate a romance scam.
