Guys, do some more research on the people you quote criticize. This is a chronically ill person who has to mask in public, trying to bring attention to an important distinction that affects her everyday life. But yeah, let’s lament echo chambers and purity tests in her comments so u can seem edgy👍🏿

Analyzed 30 years of UK trans media coverage across 12,000+ articles. Found coverage exploded after 2016, with public support dropping 18% as stories shifted from rights-based to threat-based narratives. Shows manufactured controversy, not grassroots concern.

There will also be no one to save the republic. At some point you’ll have to decide which definitions you choose to accept.

Again, if you accept Trump’s definition of a riot then you’re willing to accept his definitions of a criminal which now includes the democratically elected governor of CA. Median voter or not, if more folks as yourself continue to accept Trump’s definitions then there will be no riots as you wish.1/

This all hinges on who defines what is a “riot” and what is a “peaceful protest”. L.A.’s had riots before but no one called the Marines or the National Guard. Respectfully, if you’re making judgements about events on the ground please bring facts to support them.

And the danger is this: without real Verification, Deliberation, or Accountability, democracies lose not just legitimacy, but direction. Public life becomes noise. Manipulation thrives. Cynicism sets in. And those who seek control no longer need consent, they only need confusion.

We haven’t built a healthier democratic infrastructure. We’ve built a fast-moving spectacle where truth is optional, dialogue is gamified, and power is rarely held to account. It feels participatory, but rarely changes anything that matters.

I am not a legal practitioner, student or scholar & can’t say I ever wanted to be but, the past 10 years has made me acutely aware of the legal institutions that undergird our way of life. It’s heartening to see your overwhelming victory. good sign that the rule of law still has a fighting chance👏🏿

@mcmegan.bsky.social it’s worth asking, how is it that you - as a journalist in 2025 - could be unaware of the control that Twitter’s algorithms have on the scope and visibility of posts?

If we don't equip people to verify information themselves, we leave them at the mercy of those who weaponise doubt. This is the new civic skill set. Critical thinking isn’t an academic ideal anymore. It’s the new infrastructure of democracy

Putin and his troll farm can only win if they can convince us to fight each other, that we’re a country of random individuals from different countries and cultures. But really, we’re all united by something stronger than culture: the belief that we can make our lives and world better. 3/

that the U.S. is too diverse to make this country work equitably for all of us but in reality we’ve already made such great strides toward that goal. Despite ALL our problems, no other country embraces diversity as forcefully its what has made us excel all these years. You’re a great example!…

I know ur exhausted and I can’t thank you enough for what you do! Your work is so important! Don’t let these anonymous bastards discourage you. Assume every troll in your comments is a Russian sh*t-poster. The only effective weapon they have is to try n convince us 1/
