I thought he had them level pegged? Either way, pretty weird. Our kingdom for a time machine, hey?

That variant is so cool. Just love it. Anyways, wrote a poem for this week’s selection… Little Brucie two pants, lyin’ in the desert Stick a sword In his side Talia can get it

That @bsienk.bsky.social variant looks incredible. Like a front view of Rodin’s Thinker, but from the POV of a murder victim. Very cool.

I am not adjusting to the total absence of Joan Jett / Runaways related posts in my feed. It remains weird.

Jon stewart gets it. youtu.be/1oCeJGYAjWo?...

Thanks for that, that was fantastic.

That is such a great issue. That and the battle with Hela that precedes it. Amazing.

It’s so much fun reading them in the singles. The way the art looks on newsprint, obviously, but also the pacing of the story. He packs a lot in to every issue, but they don’t drag. Good luck with the hunt for those last couple, man, hope you land them soon 🤞👍

It’s certainly my favourite. Been absolutely years since I’ve looked at them properly, and it’s been a blast

That’s a great album. Some really wonderful writing and performances. And it’s great that he inspired you like that! Striving for something better seems to me to be such a quintessentially Springsteenish quality, y’know? A theme that runs right through his work.

Weren’t the Watchmen pins the start of all the trouble between Moore and DC? Or a part of it, at least?

Cheers, Kevin 🙂 The 85 was the last one I had to find, and tracking down a copy at a decent price in a condition I was happy with was definitely a task.

Thanks, man. I have the full run of those Adams’ GL/GA issues, love them very dearly.

Love that Gambit. Not only was his first app a brilliant cover, he managed to claim the corner box. That’s a baller move. Going with this pair today, as the Eisner noms got me thinking about awards…

Gotta love an Italian printing! Cool book.

Agreed, it looks superb. Really looking forward to it.

Yeah, that’s… that’s completely nuts. I’m not sure I’d be able to handle that 😂 But more power to Mr Katz. And to you for taking up the challenge.

And it wasn’t until years later that I read any Conan, so it’s all backwards to me. When i look at early BWS I feel like I’m looking at Sim.

The books were pretty deep into the Church & State run when I started reading. And the big trades weren’t really a thing yet. So I chased back issues, and my friend tried to fill me in on back ground.

I reckon I was fifteen or sixteen (and basically X-Men obsessed) when a friend first gave me a few issues of Cerebus to read. Was pretty much hooked immediately.

I remember being really intrigued as a kid by an ad that was being run in marvel books, it was like a mail order form for Elfquest, Cerebus and First Kingdom.

“Creepy” is definitely part of Jock’s skill set. And I appreciate the slightly sideways honesty about Elfquest 😂 Will still have to have a peek at some point, but maybe without financially overcommitting
comment in response to post
I’ve never read Elfquest! Massive gap in my understanding of the universe. Going with a trio of Jock signatures today, happy Friday all!

It’s pretty effing impressive, still. He packs so much into every issue, but it never really lags. Great fun.

It’s been years, in my case. They do not disappoint

DC is absolutely killing it with these Treasury reprints. Just a brilliant initiative

Look, not really the point of the post, I know, but… those sandwiches look good.

Can’t go wrong with Bolland

I loved it. So many great stories in there.

Nice haul. That Scioli Kirby bio is a great read.

Absolutely. And yeah, I’ve seen folks bandy that “heavy-handed” argument around, and it always gets on my nerves 😂 Like, it’s as though, because the run is ambitious and political, we’re supposed to measure its success or failure against Watchmen or Maus, rather than Conan or Silver Surfer or…

Totally. It’s a fantastic image.

It’s amazing, hey? Just so striking.
