I saw a post the other day quoting the number of deaths from the covid vaccine that was actually more than the total number of deaths for ALL causes and not just one year. It would have taken several years to reach that number.

Assume that's why he backtracked v quickly although not entirely. He'd been thinking about it for a week, sounds like a back of a fag packet calculation. And what led him to thinking the no 1 country for box office takings is in trouble. The no 2 (UK) is 1/10th of the US box office!

I won't be able to find the source now but I read something a while ago that the idea of a "conservative" judge is misinterpreted as being politically conservative when it's actually legally conservative.

Due process is what a civilised society provides. Don't forget the Rule of Law and all that.

There was a time not that long ago when e.g. Violets, Ediths and Elsies had gone out of fashion so maybe it just needs time for them to come around again.

The UK Market Abuse Regulation (UK MAR) has closed periods during which Directors or others in control cannot trade. It's the last 30 calendar days. Therefore I don't see why this should be limited to 48 hours.

Whilst that may be true, the number of shares in issue is needed to know the value of the total shares.

I looked at the democracy index which described the USA as a flawed democracy. (UK full democracy 😀)
So I wondered makes a flawed democracy also what score in 2025.

I thought that was about immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts. It specifically said not for unofficial acts. I also would think it's implicit that the official acts have to be legitimate. Trouble is it needs some one with gumption to stand up to him.

I think they are keeping their powder dry.
Sadly, they probably need the predicted problems to materialise. Possibly after, the more sensible republicans, career / experienced politicians have started to speak up.

And now Trump has supposedly issued an executive order saying on Trump and the Attorney Genersl decide what the law is.
So that's no judicial review and does this mean that when a jury needs legal direction they get Trump off the golf course for the advice.
So much for the Rule of Law then.

So let me get this right:
If the dictator gets to be a dictator, that's democracy. ???
But
If the proper checks and balances are applied by one or more of the three branches to keep a check on abuses of power that is not a democracy. ???
Hmmm I think something's amiss.

The BBC complained about being inaccurately summarised by AI. The AI said falsely that the BBC news had reported Mangione, the accused in the United Health insurance CEO killing, had shot himself. Not true and the BBC had not reported it either. How the AI came to that result I have no idea.
