The main Ukrainian objective is to narrow Russia's offensive capabilities and increase the cost of conducting offensive operations; destroying the launch platforms for cruise missiles can in no way harm them.

Anglo-French are obvious culprits.

It is more likely a matter of balancing with a huge surge in imports in the first quarter; it is necessary to break down the data by product types; at the beginning of the year, the surge in imports of pharmaceutical products, especially from Ireland, was enormous.

That sounds good, but the question remains: with what money? The income of researchers in European countries is already miserably low compared to the USA. Even in profitable fields such as pharmaceuticals, new materials, and similar areas.

The strategic sectors—agriculture, metallurgy, and energy—in Brazil are enormous. What is missing?

On the other hand, the political economy of Brazil is completely unknown to me: why is a country with about two hundred million people poorer per capita than Argentina or Mexico, and even Turkey, which itself has many problems?

Regarding Iran, as expected, much has been written, but mostly attempts to clarify the relationship between the internal regime and the economic power structures that sustain it; has any author tried to examine the country's recent economic history more carefully?

I have no answer to the question of why the media do not focus more on these topics; in many countries, autocratic or semi-autocratic governments have the favor of the current American administration; this should be the subject of a detailed investigative report.

We will not lose. It is necessary to insist on high standards of reporting and public, political work. In the fight against dangerous demagogues, the danger must be avoided—that demagogy is accepted as something legitimate.

What is this about? Are they trying to provide an ideological explanation without analyzing specific political moves?

Won’t something like that redirect work to other sectors, even within the framework of one industry, for example publishing? Something similar might happen with many lower-paid service activities.

They are probably exaggerating, although there could be productivity growth in certain sectors.

Military Keynesianism? It sounds interesting.

This is something that journalists should carefully investigate and report on; New York Times journalists have already published several important articles.

Of course, we don’t have to focus on just one topic; criticism and oversight of the current American administration are of utmost importance. There are indications that the president’s close circle is involved in problematic projects, in Serbia and Vietnam.

The Americans must be honest with themselves — have our institutions failed; if so, which ones and why? Have journalists acted as political activists instead of reporters for the public? Self-reflection is the path to improvement and institutional resilience. This is something we desperately need.

The problem is that everyone arbitrarily declares as 'garbage' almost everything they disagree with; and then, in the public sphere, on social media and elsewhere, it becomes impossible to have a competent discussion about important topics. Everything is reduced to labeling.

Sure. Unfortunately, there isn't enough non-political content.
comment in response to post
Probably not. The overall goal is Hard Decoupling from China.

We probably need to raise taxes at some point. It will be very unpleasant discussion. #JustSaying

I hope it will become everyone app. There are a lot of relevant voices and relevant perspectives on important issues. Moreover a lot of 'general content' beside politics is needed.

I suppose there are much nore than 1.5 million of reasonable people?

Massive failure.

The question of whether the president was capable of performing his duties is a relevant issue for the investigators; as is the question of whether the public was misled regarding his health condition and cognitive abilities.
comment in response to post
The problem is: has Joe Biden was capable to conduct his Presidential Duties. If not, who kept that information from the public?

What underlines the need to find an effective and inexpensive way to counter this type of target. Obviously, a lot of flak is required.

It is overlooked that this war has contributed more than anything else to Ukrainian national consolidation. 2/2

One segment of Russian nationalists—including Medinsky—maintains that this is a kind of 'civil' or 'fratricidal' war in which opposing visions of national identity—Russian and Ukrainian—are in conflict. 1/2

I think that the outlines of a 'strategy' can be glimpsed here—if it is possible to speak of strategy at all when it comes to Trump. Deepening the geo-economic division of the world along the lines of 'America or China, the choice is yours.

Western resolve is being tested in Ukraine, and to be honest, the results are not encouraging.

Certainly. Many more reporters from Africa, Latin America, and Asia are needed.

Putin's reasoning about Ukraine is deeply foreign to the American mentality. A few fields to the left or right—what does that matter? They do not understand that it is precisely that particular field that is important, not just any other comparable piece of land.

Insane in a positive way.

Yes, indeed.

Judging by past experience, the Europeans will very quickly back down.

That would be great news; if at least something remains of the Syrian industrial base in basic industries; production and distribution of electricity remain serious challenges.

I hope I won't be on the other side.
