Older, but probably not wiser. My opinions are my own unless I'm being secretly mindcontrolled by a shadowy cabal of hedgehogs.

Ooh! I really like that first one! The military green color really suits it! And yeah, bills and food always before plastic coolness. Definitely one of the more annoying parts of adulting.

Those do look good. I think it was definitely the proportions which made me hate the Project Phoenix version. A proper Tbolt needs to be almost as wide as it is tall. Kinda like a fantasy Dwarf. 😁

I bought one of the "Veritech" sets, but it was missing pieces. I also had the Griffin/FotsD Roundfacer, a _tiny_, little Goliath/FotsD Crab Gunner and a set with a twin-rotor transport helicopter, FotsD Bushmaster and a tiny motorcycle with sidecar. All sadly lost in a fire years ago.

Thunderbolt. I'm probably influenced by getting the Revell "Robotech Defenders" model kit of it as a kid and had so much fun putting it together, but I just love the squat, tough look of the original unseen. Project Phoenix is too tall and spindly, but the Reseen is good, squat and brutish again.

If it's a Nokia rocket it won't matter if the engines fail in flight. It won't be damaged by hitting the ground if my old Nokia phones from the 90's were any indication.

The America we saw on TV as kids was never actually real, but what we're seeing these days is a damn feverdream of a nightmare. It makes no sense that so many people can support such a clownishly evil narcissist! And he's so obvious about it and has been so his whole life.

Yep. I never got the "oh, they're honorable" crap. I mean, in the first one the Predator was even a petty, sore loser who set off a nuke because he was beaten despite all his advantages. "You killed me, so now I'm going all suicide bomb in an attempt to take you with me". Soooo very honorable. 😒

Fuck this shit, seriously! All the AI-bros and the corporate executives salivating at the thought of having endlessly exploitable AI "workers" instead of people need to be stuffed into a tiny, cramped crate and tossed into the deepest, darkest part of the Mariana trench!

If he thinks he's sacrificing too much then I'm sure he's welcome to fuck off and then keep fucking off until there is nowhere else to fuck off to, and then fuck off from there as well. Let someone competent have the job. Actually, that goes for every MAGA asswipe.

What? No Thunderbolt?!? Then what will the grizzly, old sergeant who rips you a new one every time you screw up, but secretly has a heart of gold and only wants his soldiers to survive drive?

He's a con-man. He always has been and he always will be. If he didn't start out with a silver spoon shoved firmly up his ass in the form of daddy's money he'd have gotten no further than being a streetcorner con-artist or at best an incredibly dishonest used-car salesman.

Is it good? Haven't got around to seeing it yet, and it hasn't been a priority as for some reason I can't quite put my finger on, season one took a long time to grab a hold of me. The first episodes of that season really didn't hook me and I can't figure out why.

I do read several webcomics. However when it comes to traditional comicbooks I prefer physical. The only problem with that is, of course, space to store them all after almost five decades of collecting comicbooks. These days I pretty much only buy TPB collections rather than single issues.

Hmm. Wonder how this setup would work for for Mechwarrior type games. One stick to control torso twist and aim while the other controls turning and reverse/forward motion.

Was 14 or so. Rode my bike to school and got off to walk over to some friends. Didn't notice the shoelace on my left shoe had become tangled on the pedal of the bike. Took one step and faceplanted into a puddle, pulling the bike on top of me right in front of a girl I had the biggest crush on.

Mmmyeahno. I think I'll just continue to hate both the technology _and_ the criminals despite the advice of internationally reknowned and respected expert in the field, Eagleflex.
You know you're on the right side when these wet and stinky skidmarks on the underpants of humanity are angry at you.

And nine times out of ten the people shouting about the wonders of generative A.I. are the same scamhappy crypto-bros who were raving about the wonders of NFTs and other such bullshit ideas a couple of years back. Never trust anything these people say.

For fuck's sake! I've met toddlers who whine less than this grown-ass man! He's an embarrassment to the entire human race. A wet, smelly skidmark on the filthy underpants of life! History will look back at his time as president and go "WTF was their major malfunction voting for this manbaby?"

The fancy cabinets with hydraulics and all seem to me like they would have been far too expensive in maintenance for most places where one would play arcade games, like small arcades, video rental stores, the local pub etc. I imagine only the _really_ big arcades could afford to run one of these.

Love those old "non-standard guardians". I've got some of them lurking around somewhere in my boxes of minis, including one with a demonic facemask complete with horns sculpted on his helmet. I've seen it referred to as "Avele Swifteye" in some old GW advertisements.

Oh, forgot to mention this was back in the 80's. 2nd edition box set (the one with the paper cutouts of mechs instead of miniatures). Picked the DC as my faction pretty much because teenage-me saw the insignia and went "Cool dragon!"

First lance I played in a short campaign was a recon lance. There had of course been one-off games, but this was the first lance I played in more than one game.
PXH-1 Phoenix Hawk
JR7-D Jenner
PNT-9R Panther
SDR-5V Spider
And yes, I did play Draconis Combine even back then.

True. The backstory I read in the rules from the 2nd edition box (the one with the styrofoam pitch) rather implied this is what happened. It's not like GW was particularly subtle about it. 😄 Which implies the Bloodbowl version of the Warhammer Fantasy world is actually the future of our world! 😄

This will always be my Thunderbolts. Citizen V, MACH-1, Songbird, Meteorite, Atlas, Techno (and a little later on Jolt and Hawkeye). This is what I think of when I think Thunderbolts. I really miss MACH, Songbird and Atlas in particular.

To hell with AI and the people pushing it as the solution to every-fucking-thing under the sun!
It's gotten to where if someone I never met before starts spouting off about the wonders of AI they immediately start off with negative "person I want to be associated with" points.

Same here. I've pretty much been using the standard IIC (although I stripped the jumpjets and added some armor and a targeting computer) exclusively for the first half or so of the campaign. Those 4 large pulse lasers are just murder on anything they hit when fired together!

Honestly, the Battletech community owes Piranha Games a debt of gratitude. Not only did they pretty much resurrect Mechwarrior as a video game with MWO, but then they did the same for single player and coop. AND they got Harmony Gold off Battletech's back both in tabletop and video games!

History is going to place these absolute shitheads and the police officers who help them in the same category as the Gestapo of Nazi Germany. Behavior like this _will_ eventually lead to someone defending themselves with lethal force, and I won't shed a tear for the "agent" on the receiving end.

I remember this game. Loved it! A couple of years later there was Comanche, which got a lot of attention as I remember due to fancy terrain graphics. These were among the games which convinced me to sell my Atari ST and jump to PC. Well, these and X-Wing.
