I voted for Biden in 1988, the first time he ran and have voted for him in every subsequent election he has been in. He should not have run in 2024, he was a dangerously dimished candidate. I'll never forgive the Democrats for scrapping Democracy in 24 and clearing the field for him.

Bottom line, if we held the election today he'd be elected again. If the Dem's want to win we need more of a governing philosophy than "we hate trump".

The pain is the point. These type of people are incapable of building or creating because they have no underlying philosophy or moral underpinning. Cruelty is the only goal and they have to keep doubling down or their reason for being disappears.

You're point is well taken, but these are not normal times. We're living thru a radical change and a business as usual approach won't cut it.

Schumer is still living like we're in the Bush administration, he just can't get his mind around what's happening today. He has to step down.

We? What are you doing? From you we hear crickets. Fuck ex-president traditions and fight before we loose everything.

You're absolutely right. Movements like this need an "other", for now it's DEI and immigrants, soon it will be Gays and minorities. The right has to cover the theft of our republic by creating fake "evil" that it needs to defeat to justify it's dismantling of everything the U.S. stands for.

Another thing, Schumer's top five donors are all Wall Street banks, don't tell me they didn't have some influence here.

I understand this argument but have to ask when do we call their bluff. Right now Trump is flooding the narrative with endless threats and aggressive moves, the opposition, ie Schumer is on his back foot saying one day we won't budge an inch and the next giving in. If not now, when do we stand.

Schumer is a spinless hypocrite who has more loyalty to Wall Street than the democracy he is sworn to represent.

I sincerely apologize for my generations inability to know when to get off the stage. Please for all our sake someone get the hook.

It would be nice if "we who cannot allow it to go on" had a coherent opposition party to get behind. All we had last night was "we can be as obnoxious as MTG", oh boy!

I'm sorry but 1/3 of the US supports Trump, and 1/3 doesn't give a shit. The world needs to not only judge us harshly but do so with total contempt.

Quite honestly this just shows how much more effective Republicans are at messaging than the Democrats.

Raw story is all click bait all the time, not a lot of depth there.

It will all be a show with little substance. He'll send border goons to a few large cities he hates, make a big splash with a few arrests for his MAGA crowd. He won't go to agricultural communities or construction sites because those folks are his supporters.

I think what's more terrifying is that ABC is genuinely afraid of Trump. Maybe this isn't as much giving up as it is survival.

People have had a steady diet of Trump stories for the last 8 years. You would have had to be unconscious to not know exactly who and what he is.

I know it's nice to tell ourselves that we're better than this but quite frankly we're not. We're a nation founded as a slave state, we committed genocide against millions of the indigenous population. Racial hatred, red lining, mas incarceration were accepted policy in most States in the union.

Most people today got left out of the American dream and they don't understand why and their pissed. That "why" leaves an opening for people like Trump to exploit. His promise to hurt the "others" worse than they hurt makes his followers feel better. Christians have used that playbook for ages.
