Obviously I shouldn't've fallen off Magia Record. This shit isn't vaguely Madoka Magica, but it sounds great lmao

A Platonic ideal? Good heavens, no! We must derive the necessity of any given story element through a consideration of its contradiction, antithesis, and synthesis like good neo-Hegelians

That's why I stick to Bread Alley and Arepazone

Youtube videos that present themselves as polished documentaries are usually quite bad; the best history youtubers can just about manage to use their own webcam and microphone

Very delicately avoiding the question of whether they should do anything to honor anyone who had anything to do with Luthen's network who they had consistently blown off

I'm not the first person to say it, but it makes the whole medal ceremony at the end so funny.

If I were Alec Guinness, I'd absolutely have been mad that this is largely what I'm remembered for, but that's no fault of Star Wars

>…okay but the editing and shot changes in subsequent releases weren't all bad, the original editing has some jank
>there is way more space racism in this than I remembered

It reminded me that one of the spoiler things I was incredulous about in Andor S2 – mostly the last arc – is actually something that Rogue One kinda boxed them into

It's a bit cheating to have Hidari do some of the promo art.

And so as not to bifurcate the thread, I also don't mean to say that there's no evidence either. I seem to recall a few studies at least nominally in support of "phones make some people measurably dumber in some ways" too

Yeah that may be, I'm not *not* sympathetic to the claim tbh. I def. not one of those people who thinks nothing ever changes. Maybe I should be cautious about calling myself a "techno-optimist," but any kind of optimist definitionally can't believe that.

I don't see it with my own eyes, and even if I did, I wouldn't accept anecdotal evidence of something like that. Sorry man, "but the studies" guy holds the field.

Everyone likes food, but is there a point to my posting about it? Why would I post pictures of the kanelbullar I made if I can't give you one? "i made you a cookie but then I eated it ;_;" as a form of community.

For all the fretting about this happening with anime and whatever could be done about it, I can't think of any description under which it actually happened though. Not to say you're wrong of course, but if you're right, finding the difference between the two would be illuminating

Anyway if you'd like to get a jump on Kikeroga discourse, you can head on over to Zimmerit for the article I wrote...7 years ago!? www.zimmerit.moe/gundam-char-...

If I had a quarter for every time I've gotten glowing feedback directly from con staff and next year was completely unable to get anything accepted, I'd have two quarters. That's not a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

I completely wiped out this year btw lol
Skill issue. If I can't get at least 1 of 4 submissions accepted after a decade of doing this, that's absolutely on me. Not good enough; I'll work harder.

The details are quite complicated. A lot depends on the design in question, and on behavior we won't understand without some very sophisticated simulations and real world experiments to validate them. You can find a lot of plausible interpretations out there – both discussions and in other SF

The ones in UC Gundam are no exception. There's an offhand exchange in the first TV episode where Chalia Bull asks his XO for the weather schedule before busting through Izuma's dock. Since Izuma is a very naturalistic colony, I bet their "schedule" is like 90% forecast, 10% control
