Then compare that to the relative brutality of Lansdowne. All hardscaped. Negligible green space. Tall buildings for mostly large businesses. No mix of housing. These are choices. Compared to Main, Lansdowne is a desolate and hostile. Lansdowne 2.0 should take some lessons. #ottawa

Imagine if instead of providing passenger ferry service we just made everyone own their own small boats. It would be chaos and totally unsafe on days like today. And obviously not everyone could afford one. Plus imagine the dock space required!

My friend also described students openly gaming the grade weighting. If the midterm and final equal 60% of their mark they will ignore everything else. The goal is a passing grade. Transcripts don't matter. The motive isn't to learn from a course, it's to endure it.

A friend said she routinely gets assignments back that are obvious AI. Sentences that make no sense and citations that don’t exist. And from 4th year students in their major. They get a zero. Like why are you in university?

For most strategic voting is meaningless. It’s all guesses or bad faith prognostication. But voters shouldn’t need polls or special knowledge of past results just for their vote to count. Our system isn’t built for a multiparty democracy. We need to replace it with one where every vote counts.

There is only one voting booth here. We are being told the wait could be up to an hour. The line of is moving only because people are leaving. This is not ideal.
