Really?! I stand corrected - the ones I know are clustered in NE, so I guess I made the mistake I highlighted, myself… 😅

Rubric overreliance? Thinking NE is representative of rest-of-US, when it isn’t. I compiled some examples here. 😊

This is incredibly bad. This is basically a Patriot Act for Canada that will create a surveillance state and is a fundamental attack on the basic rights of Canadians and others inside Canada.
Conservatives will not oppose this.

It’s like the periods in Chinese history where the rulers “turned inward” and purged everything they didn’t like.
And then fell way behind… 😡

I’ve heard they’ve made progress too, it’s great when one is able to create custom tools instead of having to borrow other industries’ tools, which never… quite… fit!

I remember this old Asimov story where a high tech society so advanced they forgot how to do math, rediscovered pencil-and-paper arithmetic and used it ... for military projects. 😭

To invert the 1950s GM slogan, “what’s good for the Heritage Foundation is *bad* for America.” 😡

Then, to quote Emperor Septimus Severus (allegedly), “pay the soldiers and ignore everyone else” - they’ll cut New Deal programs.
If that crowd would rather be Russian oligarchs than American industrialists, would they really care about currency effects…?

It’s Grover Norquist’s kitten-drowning fantasy, right? Make govt so small (revenue wise) it can’t do anything. Sell its organs (privatize all services).
Social mobility disappears, entrenching the in-group at the top.

I trust those German researchers are accurate -- it's possible to go without clean firm power.
I also trust Jenkins' research that for California (maybe not everywhere) clean firm power makes electricity cheaper :)

💯. EDF paper here, coauthored by @jessedjenkins.com, clean firm is very, very helpful.
