I’m putting both of those on my hold list. I’ve had issues reading with my burnout but hoping I can do the first book.

It’s so nice when they use them! Such a little victory.

AI can make awful photos but it can’t make them include the many bylaws of Toronto. Maybe the next one will have people drinking alcohol and walking around.

Ironically fire pits like this are illegal in Toronto backyards. Not really a comment on this rendering. Just a thing I know about Toronto bylaws.

That’s a hard one because bots stick to certain talking points, but so do certain demographics ….

Ah! I didn’t see all her replies somehow. I don’t feel mean or bad anymore. I only saw 2 of her replies and they just seemed confusing and like missing the point. Had I seen more I wouldn’t have felt empathy!

I know a tiny bit about the DTC if that helps, but it’s basics. I applied a few months ago and haven’t heard back.

I feel kinda mean reacting to it. I know people are scared, everywhere, but especially over there where you all are, so people are snapping and flying off the handle in fear. Still. The in-fighting we (general liberals) do bothers me so much and things move at a snails pace. For both countries.

Ann, girl, you ok?

I wasn’t sure who she was responding to with her nonsense but I was about to be like ā€œlady, that didn’t make any senseā€.

I could be wrong, of course. Any story I’ve seen about it was just people going on the track directly from the platform. Staff has access to get in through other ways but lately it sounds like it’s people who are in crisis and I don’t think they’re planning much.

That’s a good question. I’ve always assumed they just go directly from the station platforms. Ours are wide open like the New York ones. It’s easy to just hop down. This is just one story but shows in the photo how open our platforms are. nowtoronto.com/news/video-t...

As a frequent TTC user one very big cause of delays we have is trespassers on the tracks. Those delays are likely costly and I can see these screen doors preventing that issue, if they’re installed at the appropriate stations where that’s a common problem.

I remember seeing those in London and Paris 20 years ago and it just felt much safer. I’m not surprised that we’re so far behind but I’m annoyed. At least we’re discussing it finally.

I stayed with a host family in Mexico in July years ago for a Spanish course and they would serve us soup at lunch. The theory being it regulated your body to the hot temperature rather than shock it. That said, I’m with you about the coffee haha.

Very interesting! Gonna check out your book. I’ve just been watching Law and Order for the first time in 2 decades, with my own personal views changing a lot since I was a kid/teen when I last watched. I can tell my lens has changed.

I align with our newer more left party much more (NDP) than with our Liberals (Trudeau/Carney) but I can’t remember the last time I voted NDP. I think I’ve only been able to once. Where I live if I don’t vote strategically the conservatives win and I refuse to let that happen by throwing away a vote
comment in response to post
Yeah, we did that whole create another party thing in Canada and all it does is split the vote. I prefer that party in some ways but all we end up doing is voting strategically and hoping they make coalitions or deals together, which they don’t have to. It doesn’t work well.

As a person with strange mid back pain from yesterday due to dehydration, I second this.

I’ve only read two posts and it’s so sad. It’s basically conspiracy theories about society not wanting people to ā€œdateā€ AI for various nonexistent reasons. Yikes!

Nooooooo. Side note: I’m surprised the title of the group is boyfriend and not girlfriend, even though obviously people would use it for both. I know that’s a bias on my part, but still.

Had that convo with my cat about letting him into the enclosed back porch. I usually cave with him but during this heatwave I’ve been pretty stern lol. To be fair he hasn’t argued with me much, so I think he knows it’s hot.

Mine has been doing this today too. Showing it as 10 degrees cooler than it is until I open the app and it refreshes. I hope people aren’t relying on it and going outside

I loved it so much. It was wild! I remember a whole storyline about a portal to hell in Tabitha’s basement.
