I was a part of this program almost 15 years ago! Haven't used a chainsaw since, but the college grant was invaluable.

If the tax on car insurance was used to fund rtd it might actually lower costs for everyone.

Arguably the greatest cost-benefit ratio in government history.

Ah, the legionnaire's model 😭

Yeah, I've had two bikes walk off despite good chain locks, the second almost made me quit riding a bike for transportation.

A minority (rural voters in CO) dictating policy for their economic self interest on public property isn't democracy dummy. Also, ranchers are compensated generously for wolf kills.

Rural dorks who live off the wealth transfer from cities really think they have it all figured out...

All I want is for my bike to still be there when I leave.

Cities I've seen work well make walking and trains a priority and cars scarce. NYC has a particularly horrible car culture in my experience, and I am excited for any intervention that redistributes space and funding to transit. Sorry it doesn't work for you, but I'm hoping it is just the start.

Cool. Any thoughts on how to find scalable transportation solutions in the city and region outside of your wildly unique circumstances?

His words were: covid and work from home put the lid on the coffin, and now congestion pricing will nail it shut. I love taking the bus or train into the city when I'm in town. Idk how any can stomach paying bridge and road tolls to sit in traffic and worry about parking.

Priority bikes are so rad. Cleaning it with a hose, IGH, a just so pleasantly quiet...makes chains feel clunky and out of date Changing the rear tire isn't bad.

He is accidentally correct. Cities are spending money on dogshit bike lanes across the USA. People aren't crazy for noticing that they are underutilized and unsafe. But yeah, proven designs are the solution, vehicular cycling is an extreme sport- not transportation.

Why do you abhor bike lanes?

Great point, would be great people to put out of business. Wyatts Towing level.

Sounds like Denver needs to increase parking fines!

You guys are really leading the way in the US. We have some new brt projects on good corridors here in Denver, so fingers crossed they help reverse the trend. Do you also see a group of people who will use park and ride train service but wouldn't go on a bus for any reason?

Thanks so much!

Do you have somewhere inside you store it at home? Any thoughts about a modular option like Argo that could attach to any bike? Thanks!

Good question, maybe I'm too pessimistic, but with the unpopularity of transit and bikes, advocacy in my city feels like triage right now. We just lost a fight to protect a bike lane because it would remove four parking spaces in front of a liquor store. Our transit is in a ridership death spiral.

After Denver successfully eliminates car parking minimums, then we can start advocating for bike parking minimums lol

I feel so bad that this little dude can't see anything around my dumb back, I am sure that I would crack if I tried one 😂
