Oh no. I am so sorry to hear your mom is not well. I would be through the roof about this delay. It’s not like you can take her to emergency yourself or anything without major complications. I wish I had suggestions besides phoning mla’s & AHS officials.

Yup. I’ll join this cause.

I am glad you had some joy to chase away the blues. It is hard to remain optimistic sometimes.

He shouldn’t have enlisted those yahoos to form the UCP and in getting him into power. He’s right but I still don’t trust him. He’s just trying to weasel his way back into politics.

It’s distressing isn’t it. But on the other side of the coin, we put up a Canadian flag. So did a neighbour. We also have a ā€œhate has no home hereā€ sign. The other day we had a letter in our mailbox asking where we got our flag & commenting in agreement on the hate sign. There is hope!

You are really showcasing some fantastic work! Thank you. I am especially drawn to this piece.

You too!

But you are still creating and pursuing your career. I have not been doing that and am letting everything slide. C’est la vie. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

If you figure it out, let me know. I suspect I won’t find my way out until the world settles again. Which I feel in my bones may not be for a long time.

You are amazing! Well done!

Yummy! I can feel the juiciness of those cherries. I just post a photo of our cherry tree blossoms. Hoping to have a few cherries this summer!

I am still not artistically active right now. Just enjoying a slower pace to life, taking care of health issues, cooking, gardening, reading books, playing games, fighting fascism. You know.....living!

Worse yet they are run by Americans funded by Russia. Just watch a thing on that. Will see if I can find it again.

Exactly. The elevator was supposed to be fixed the weekend, but wasn’t so they are going on week 3. They don’t have 1 person dedicated to running the stair lift so it takes upwards of an hour to have someone come to take a person down.

If there was an emergency, like a fire, those residents would not be able to get out unless they have good mobility. My MIL does not have good enough mobility to go up and down stairs. This is the 2nd time this year they’ve been without an elevator. Unacceptable. 2/2

It will never happen, but what this all does is stains Alberta’s reputation. It makes investors look elsewhere. It makes other Canadians sneer at us. It fast tracks Alberta to a have not province where we lose big time. Add in the privatization of health care & I predict bankruptcy for Alberta.
comment in response to post
Until all Albertan’s get off their butts to protest and swamp them with angry letters it won’t stop. I feel like they are rushing everything through before parliament resumes.

Well, I think the Ab NDP is that party, but understand and support the need for a new Conservative Party. Perhaps the Alberta Party would be open to a make-over and renaming. I’d go back to calling it the Progressive Conservatives.

How much would that cost to do? If Canada Post doesn’t go on strike again.

Have a binder with essential paperwork at the very least. The EU did a video awhile ago about an emergency preparedness kit. Thats what motivated me to actually do it even though we’re less likely to need it than we were living in the country. May long weekend was always terrifying out there.

Nice work.

This is why the conservative parties are authoritarian. Petulant whiny children who I wish would run away from home.
comment in response to post
Stay safe. I hope you’ve got a grab and go box prepared. That was something we always talked about having ready, but never did it when we were in the country. Now we have it though.
comment in response to post
Yes, me too. I think a lot of Canadians felt that way. Left leaning parties supporting right wing parties has to be a no go without a really, really good reason. I hope the NDP can bring their status back up, but it’s going to be really hard.

He should have been the NDP leader. This election would have looked vastly different if he was. I am heartbroken the NDP lost so many seats. A Liberal NDP majority would have been great for Canada. I hope Carney can repair the rift & stop the BS.
comment in response to post
It really is depressing. There’s such a clear division between hate & tolerance. I’m not really even sure the world can ever come back from this (because this is much bigger than just a Canada problem). I appreciate Charlie Angus, but am upset he has left politics.
comment in response to post
They really don’t understand the issues at all. Can they not see and understand that all levels of conservative government cut public institutions so that corporations can run them and profit? Can they not understand that private health care is not beneficial in any capacity?
comment in response to post
If this is what the majority of Albertan’s or Canadian’s want, to destroy our democracy & public good, how do you fight that? I am dismayed by the sweeping blue across Alberta & Saskatchewan. There could not have been more warning signs & yet people seem to want chaos & corruption. 😭
comment in response to post
I’m just so depressed living here under this regime. I am saddened so many Canadian’s chose the hateful cons instead of the 3 other parties actually trying to make Canada better. Yes the Liberals won, but it was far too close. /1

Belated happy anniversary. May you have many more!

I really enjoyed reading your insights on this. Canada has a lot of work ahead to squash these disinformation machines and extremists in politics. The Liberals got my vote too. We need calm, steady leadership both at home & internationally.
comment in response to post
Yup, that was my problem.

The Maga people are out hard with rhetoric praising Carney desperate for Canadians to be stupid enough to fall for reverse psychology! So I’m feeling more confident PP is about to spectacularly lose.

That’s the one bird we always had when we lived in the country that I failed to ever get a good photo of. I hope you fare better.

I probably would too if we could buy by the caseload!

Very pretty. Can I ask what pattern? I am toying with doing a cotton or linen sweater for summer.

I hope if Carney wins and opens inter- provincial trade we can buy cases of maple syrup instead of just the grocery store kinds.

Sad there is no strategic vote in Red Deer. Our riding would vote for chicken shit as long as it was with the Conservative Party, which just may be what our con candidate is. I voted for love, unity, equality, and the party with the most capable leader.

We frequently go to the coast in Spring. I am always so sad to leave. I also love crows. I was lucky to be able to photograph many on this trip, so expect to see more.
