This is such an absurd take “ these are bad because they hold their resale value” You would rather eat a huge depreciation? I wish i could sell the xbox games I no longer play for more than pennies on the dollar. And top tier new games on other systems cost just about as much.

The party of self-determination and individual responsibility has now transformed into a full blown blame game and even embraced the cognitive dissonance of turning a stout electoral rebuke into a victory and "a movement". In a real movement, the leader of that movement doesn't lose their own seat.

In my riding, Halifax, the conservatives will not win : if we elect the liberal we get a rookie backbencher, if we elect NDP we get an effective opposition member ( and also maybe a good partner in a minority situation). Millions of Canadians will still vote NDP, and they deserve representation.

This is true. My worry is that a poor understanding of the electoral system could lead to a rout. This may be a scenario where the NDP loses official party status and that would have a bad effect on our electoral landscape.

If people only vote for/elect red or blue, opposition in parliament will be nothing but partisan attacks, and committee work will only be obstructionist. This does not lead to good government. Don’t give in to reductionism. Look at the devolution of the US govt. Canada is better than that.

This would be a great pop up bistro : reserve a bathtub, with or without bubbles, and then BYOKFC.

I’m at 32 hours sleep over 14 days. getting better thanks to an awesome accupuncture therapist, and some good friends. Last 4 days I’m averaging 5 hours per night. Which is almost my baseline of 6.5/ night. Should be out of the woods in a couple days. I’ve enjoyed this exchange a lot though!

IMHO it matters ,because Russia is very weak at the moment , and also fragile economically. They are reticent to prolong their war of aggression, & the last thing they want is a new ,reinvigorated, & unified Europe standing with Ukraine, perhaps without direct political support from the USA,

I was too wired to finish the math just then. replace the variables in the velocity equation with: days of insomnia for t time , and hours of sleep less than normal replaces d displacement. “speed of insomnia”. But maybe it should be Speed of the Sound of Loneliness Cuz’ Then it’s a Prine number.

You are right. And I hesitate to use the word “ but” here , but can I tell you a story? It’s Short , and a bit generous I hope.

I’ve just , and pun intended here, dreamed up a sleep deficiency “speed “ formula. To measure just how messed my sleep is at the moment.

Better late than never. If one republican shows just an ounce of backbone, and if they get a response, then maybe more will follow and a firewall can be established. No forgiveness implied for him from me, but a little respect.I hope for better outcomes and welcome things that bend towards freedom.

Notable in this is that they all reached their “ best before” date. 9 years is about as long as Canadians can deal with the same PM. Also, resigning with zero drama and zero chance of insurrection on Jan. 6 is quite fitting. I do wish that the likely next PM wasn’t such a sneering ideologue.

This is 100% Yacht Rock. One could suppose that the “yacht” is actually a recording studio, where you take up residence for 3 months to record 14 songs and release 10 of them. But it’s definitely Yacht Rock.

They will delay for a while to allow for the Trump tariff threats to recede. Nobody wants a vote in January-March. They will defeat a conservative non confidence resolution, and then try to pass one of their own.

An election was guaranteed to happen this year anyway, & the antipathy towards Trudeau personally is a guaranteed loss for the Liberals if he stays as leader. The NDP can’t be a viable alternative in that election if they are still keeping the Trudeau govt afloat. Expect an election In April.
