Good advice! I'm forcing myself to adapt to 250 max words per page, and full rules on a 2-page spread. Rambling on and providing user cases for everything makes it a drag to write, read, and get into the game.

I've reached out to calls for collaboration, when they are available, and even provided pitches for what I bring to the table. I'd suggest keeping an eye out for those or reaching out to the people you already know and see if they want to collaborate.

My ZONES game (based on STALKER) is sort of this using the Mark of the Odd + Cairn system. Players can die pretty easily in the world, leaving behind the progress they made in the world, but losing all their gear and training.

Open the offer with your backers concerning the "downgrade" to wooden tokens. If there is major push-back, explain that a price increase will be added to adjust for things beyond your control. One thing I've learned in this business is that the majority of people are understanding of these issues.
