It amazes me that parliament can interpret a very distinct and finite ruling and extrapolate it to make the lives of people (whose lives have most likely not been a breeze) even worse. It is a despicable cruel action with far reaching societal consequences. Shameful.

Ouch!! A friend is in a similar situation. I think her sister lives in the film set of the Stepford wives. It’s amazing how whole communities think one thought and independent critical thinking is actively discouraged. You can’t reason with a cult.

I thought it was unlike you to make such a statement. 😁 But if those who are unaffected directly, see what’s happening and do nothing, they/we are doomed. What do these short narcissistic fascist despots need to do before they are thrown out? And there are plenty of them worldwide!

And this is how dictatorships succeed. The people who are affected need the people who aren’t and who are a privileged position to stand up for them. Luckily, there are people in the US standing up and being counted. “First they came for the socialists …”

I’m not sure where to start with that statement. ICE, federal decimation 275,000 jobs, NOA and ATC risks, Medicaid, environment, economy, 30-50% of small businesses affected by tariffs … just because some communities live in bubbles doesn’t mean ‘most’ are unaffected. #NoKings

Did anyone ever think their costings would add up? They are the English league of the Trump cult. Anyone dreaming that they are capable of running a council let alone a country just need to look at the US. That’s what happens when people are poorly educated. IT WILL HAPPEN HERE.

Lib Dems have far more socialist policies, but will the same happen if they ever got the keys to the door? It seems that once a party walks through that black door, some alien force takes over. Maybe South Park had it right!

To give him his due, he never pretended to be socialist. But it was going to be good to have some sensible people (including some decent Labour MPs) in charge. I’m just so disappointed that after the Tory shit show, this gov has managed to fail on so many levels. I shake my head daily.

A country who has no trade with the US isn’t being hit with tariffs and would have no reason to find out about the mix up. The Norfolk firms may find out about the mix up if their US importer tells them their tariff bill was higher than expected. Feels like a news outlet creating news to me!

And his fan base won’t give a f*#! They don’t care if he tanks the economy. They don’t care about fellow citizens. They trust him. He could gouge the eyes out of their parents and children, chop off limbs, and they’d still support him. 🙄 MAGA is the biggest cult this century.

Dropped in to say there is consistency - there are the haves and have nots (but was beaten to it). The system was set up for the rich, by the rich, to protect the rich. Not just the US but systems the world over.

I think the term is “thick as shit”. Everything that comes out of their mouths is like the worst of the most ignorant internet troll who has a platform to spout uninformed crap and act like they’re geniuses. The sooner other world leaders start treating them like the trolls they are, the better!

I am known for e.g. which is the bane of my life. I have clients whose style guide is (E.g., xxx). I will do anything to avoid using e.g. in their documents!

Don’t even go there. The times my clients have created job titles just because they sound important and a is a little more senior than b so needs a more impressive title. 🙄

Yes it’s a French thing. I sometimes default to it in English after writing in French though. Just to confuse people. 😁

There is a direct link between capitalising job titles and the need for people to feel important. 😇

That’s because there has to be a space before punctuation which has two elements in the character. So ? ! ; : have a space before them but not . , I love the space and it looks odd in English having a busy character sticking right up to a letter. Very promiscuous! 😁🇫🇷

Now the government are doing a lot of stuff that makes me shake my head but this has to be the worst! How DARE they try to get rid of under performing staff who don’t have the required skills! Utterly disgusting use of taxpayer’s money!

I think it was Zelensky’s great retort that maybe his suit would be better than the reporters, and maybe cheaper, that threw the five year old Vance into apoplexy. It was a fantastic response that was much overlooked. 😎

Can anyone be that confident when they and their cabal are so far out of their depth. They are threatened by intelligent knowledgeable people and anyone who stands up to them. Oh … like any bully!

I love that the media is all antsy about conflict of interests. America has been taken over by a cartel. There are no ethics or laws that apply to anything they do. It is now a lawless country which has no respect for anyone or anything.

Macron makes a better international leader than a domestic one. That visit didn’t quite go as Trump planned did it?! Let’s hope he’s paved the way for all the other leaders to have some balls!

I remember going to a disco at a Mormon church (friend’s family connection). They wouldn’t play Culture Club because it was sinful … but would play Bronski Beat and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. My 14 year old self enjoyed their ignorance immensely. 😇

If Starmer was anyone he would be refusing to go. Very disappointing that the UK and EU are still entertaining the idea that the US are a partner.

I pose that Trump, Vance and Musk are the greatest threats to Europe, the US … and mankind generally. Not tooting my own horn, but I think my “pose” is closer to the truth.

It’s an indication of the level of education (low) and narcissism (high) that an individual possesses, and also “the world revolves around me” syndrome. The fact that polite people don’t dare tell them to turn it the fuck off just amazes me - obviously you can say it more politely if you wish!

You can only hope that someone on the catering team is mixing up big barrels of ‘Kool-Aid’ so they can all drink a toast at the end of the conference.

They’ll be wearing white sheets and pointy hats at the next conference and no one will bat an eye lid. Someone tell me how we’ve actually “progressed” in the last century. We kid ourselves that people are no longer as racist or mysogynistic as they used to be. It’s the big white elephant in society.

No vote should ever be governed by an MP’s personal view. It should always reflect the views and interests of their constituents. If they can’t remove their own personal interest they shouldn’t be an MP.
comment in response to

What a complete load of shit! This is exactly why the bill is doomed. MPs are voting for their own personal view not for the public. What they should be doing is working together to develop the right safeguards to ensure it is assisted dying at end of life and not assistance to die at any time.

Lack of critical thinking. Lack of care about anyone who is less fortunate. Lack of social values. Hate of people who are different to them. Republican owned media. Poor quality TV. Poor education. Populism. Arrogance. Laziness. Superiority complex. Stupidity. Not enough space to list everything.

We need more of this. The opposition is able to say pretty much what they like about world leaders and make any criticism they wish without impacting relationships between governments. Let’s see how many of them have the balls to say what the rest of us think and say it loudly!

With technology today it is not hard to stop mobile phone communications, it is not hard to stop drones. None of this is difficult or even that costly. If you want to make a difference, just do the basics. 🤬

@yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social. Seriously. I mean … seriously? Not only is the guy getting special treatment in the first place for being a racist thug, but tell me this is just fake news. If not, can I suggest you get on to the governor and put a stop to it. In fact just sort out the prisons.

Does anyone get the feeling that felon is axing all of these departments because he hasn’t got a bloody clue what they do, and he’s so arrogant that if he doesn’t understand it it must be rubbish. Anyone in the US supporting this deserves what is happening, I’m just sorry for everyone else.

Taxes are going up in France for everyone, but anyone earning over 250,000€ (500,000€ for a couple) is going to pay an extra 3% (4% over a million) just for 2025. View is the people with the deepest pockets can pay a bit more as a one off to help the country. 🇫🇷

Trump has no authority to negotiate or agree anything about Ukraine. If he withdraws funding the rest of the world will need to step up and stand up to Trump. Stop treating him like he’s some untouchable gangster boss and treat him like the total cunt he is!

Why do we say that anything digitally manipulated is AI? Instructing a piece of software to replace text on a picture is not AI. If it was randomly seeking out pictures, deciding what to change on them following a self-defined rationale and intent; THAT would be AI.

I’m sure he’s just doing this to see how far he’ll have to go until someone will have the balls to tell him he’s deluded, would be a war criminal, and needs to butt out. The problem is there are so many narcissistic facist leaders that we could be at a tipping point where facism finally wins.
