That there is a difference between good things and bad things is the whole point of even bothering to get an education.

I saw a cybertruck with one of those "got it before Elon went crazy" stickers on it yesterday, which, nice try.

During dismissal at the middle school across the street from me, every kid is staring at their phone while strolling like they are mid-level investment bankers. WHO are they talking to. Their friends are right there! Why is this!

Someone I’ve been going to for ten years just started doing this and I felt genuinely, irrationally hurt when I noticed it on my receipt. Give me a heads up and I’ll pay cash, but that extra $1.30 without a word bugs me more than I can say.

Oh no, obsolescence? The thing we all face eventually? The thing the greatest poets wonder at? If not talking to robots is what gets me there-fine! Whatever! Nothing beside remains, as they say.

I said this on Reddit and it did not go over well with those nerds.

Making a different show when you make a different show is kind of the whole ballgame! I see this getting shrugged off as “it’s his schtick,” but it’s very bad! For art! And for me, having to hear about it!

I feel conflicted about this because we have too MUCH signposting everywhere else.

Starkness substituting for meaning? At what point is a show about a fascist demagogue so “stripped down” that it’s just a blonde on a balcony?

He'll have to speed in a school zone again, obviously.

And you may well have needed it.

I remember the coverage was just “lone wolf” out the wazoo. They never talked about Coeur d’Alene and all the white supremacist groups who got him there.

Midtown is actively hostile to ANYONE who isn’t a finance guy looking to crush a poke bowl, but somehow it’s always full of people getting around just fine!

Oh man, we read Grapes of Wrath my junior year and I remember all of us WEEPING.

Freshman business majors should be required to crew a show. The smart ones would enjoy it, the dullards could still make themselves useful, and there'd be synergy, which I hear they all like!

Also no one has slept and everyone is sleeping together. Put that in your powerpoint and smoke it!

That thing where you have half an hour left of tech and the light and sound guys are fighting and you haven't actually finished a cue-to-cue? Corporate Strategy 400 could NEVER.

I can't actually believe this woman used real names throughout, because if my friend is her definition of "mean," then the whole premise, which contains pretty serious allegations, is in question here.

This book will do that for you! It's really beautiful.

Right, and the standard "you're more likely to die in a car crash" is UNHELPFUL.

Have you ever read Mark Vanhoenacker's Skyfaring: A Journey with a Pilot? It's more about absolute love of flying and is gorgeously descriptive; more than anything else it helped me get back in the air after severe anxiety - he makes you feel like you're part of the majesty of it.
